Wot a bitch of a fluken day wont bother doing a seperate thread
Did bit of a sleepy in so didn't get the lighter wind 4cast, opted to tow boat to the hacking plik of a ramp for the big goat. ET was just around the corner filming for wun of his shows so if ewes see sum guy using a baitcaster of the rocks you'll know it was Tuday. Got to jibbon & knew right away it was going to be a bitch of a ride down sth swell short & sweet from SE & NE on a good note water temp was pretty warm 22.5 deg & water didn't look to bad in colour either considering inside the hacking it was quite dirty. Got to Marley & mutton birds were feeding was tempted to run sum lures cause we weren't going that much fusta than troll speed Did I mention it was sloppy as ????? Got a bit closer to the birds & had a nice Mahi of around 5 - 6 kg jump out in front of us still not enough to make me pull lures target was snappy toms. Finally got onto the deeper water drift & it was a bitch even turning the boat side on we were still drifting 1.5 knots + & it was a bigger bitch cranking up the monster leads used not enjoyable @ all. Stuff that opted to go in shallow where hopefully the drift was slower & we could downsize leads sorta worked out only a .7 knot drift not as far to crank up leads not a real favorable drift with the NE'r picking up we were getting pushed towards the coast & couldn't do my favoured N - S drift. Started off with throw back snappy toms but did manage a few keepers, highlight was the Mo Wongs they were aroud the 2 kg mark Plic fish for the day went to the Fed Bakers must've caught 2,588 of them coming up 2 @ time give false hope of a good snappy tom. Did ketch fush all day just not wot we wanted , crap fish like nannyga, sweep, pike, bonito, slimmy's Didn't even bother pulling camera out Oh yeah wot a big change in water temp @ this spot down to 18.5 that's a 3 deg drop + water was filfy green -------------------- ![]() Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |
