Boo Shite hysterical.gif

Chris is a good mate of mine who's allways done the right thing by me & when peeps do that I return the compliment

Whilst I'm doing up his goat he's stripping down my Yamms & going through them.

Should be done this week maybe by Flyday unless we have to send anything out.

After today I had the itch to pull lures out wide esp with the seas the way they were

Wot a magic day maybe next weekend

Got a fair bit done considering I've been lazy & spending alot of my time shit stiring Chris's customers hysterical.gif

Didn't take a pic of it but the centre consol is done chris fitted the steering into it yesterday

Pic below is the end result of the transom layout & it's pod pic shows it all tacked up since pic was taken I've fully welded it & cleaned up certain welds smooth
There'll be a 60 HP 4 banger powering the goaty when the time comes

Pic below is an internal zot, wot I opted to do with the floor layout was to cut scrap strips to the profile of boat & weld them in, tis alot easier doing the cutouts required this way not to mention how precise ewe can be when butting it up to the boats side skins think biggest gap I had was 2 mm's

Benefits doing this way is all that's required when time comes is a small bead of sikaflex in the corners & this will eliminate anything fallingdown into the hull, all the floor panels have been cut & fitted & these will be screwed down when time comes.

Not a great deal left to make now, have done all the rails but wont weld them on til last, just a few fiddly bits to do around transom

Goat should be ready for paint early next week

Yep jason any MIG machine will do both AC & DC

Dont even have to flick a switch

Dont ask me how cause I dont really know

TIG on the other hand is different & ewe have to designate either AC for alloy, brass , copper etc or DC for stailess, mild steel

Mentioned earlier that I've been terrarising Chris's customers hysterical.gif

Tried selling a guy another customers ski boat told him he could make alot of $$'s from it smuggling refugee's into oz fit @ fits least 30

Another guy rolled up in a volvo & I had to ask how long he'd been a Doctor ??

He looked @ me funny & said he wasn't a doctor

I replied

Well ewe dont look Chi Nee so ewe must be a Doctor

Welding shops will tell ewe to use 1.2 mm

Dont listen to them .9 mm is the way to go, ewe have more control of the weld but use 1 . 2 mm tips with the .9 mm wire

QUOTE (Fed @ Feb 4 2010, 07:28 AM) *
Why the pod Jumpy.

Number of reasons Fed

Chris's wife just gave birth to their 7th kid [ I call the tribe Chris Chillas & the 7 Dwarfs]

Even asked him if he wanted to adopt Salty as a supervisor hysterical.gif

If ewe have a look @ the original pic ewe'll see the transom is just a drop down personally I dont like them in sloppy conditions they will take water through the back esp with the goaty getting a 4 banger fitted with it's extra weight.

Kids dont weigh as much as adults & ewe dont want to scare the crap out of them cause they'll never want to go fushing with the old man again so we decided to close in the transom.

Came into the goat 36 cm's & would've had to come in another 30 cm's without the pod being there to have allowered the motor access to tilt up for transit

If that answer appeases your curiosity ??

How about laying me a Golden Egg hysterical.gif hysterical.gif

Half an engine well and half a pod makes perfect sense to me.
You going to paint it?

Yeah going to go see another mate of mine this morn to see if I can use his spray booth else there'll be to much overspray doing it @ chris's & dont want to get it over customers goats.

4got to mention the goaty builders plate allows for a 50 hp motor & we want to go 60hp

With the work being done to the transom goat could sport a 80 hp without any probs

So all I have to do is stamp out my own builders plate include the HP rating of the motor & chris wont have any issues with insurance co's
