Me, I'd be thinking pressed alloy four stroke, maybe something like a Quintrex 520 Coast Runner. Can anyone come up with a better allround alternative? Fed you must have Big creeks and rivers at Milperra, If you were in the bush you would realise that you wont fit a 520 Quinnie in any of the creeks or rivers, the last thing that you would want is the weight of a four stroke on the back, most of the time any more than 6" of draft and you're in trouble. By the way if you were around here you would not want a Quintrex on our waterways as it is a known fact that this year alone no less than four Quinnies that I know of have been sent back to the factory for Splitting beside the welds. -------------------- I WANNA GO: FISHIN WITH SUMO.

I doubt there will ever be an allround boat that would be good at both ends of the scale, it's always a compromise.
I'm thinking something that will get into 2 or 3 feet of water but still be OK 15 miles out to sea. Of course there's always MY boat. ![]() -------------------- ![]() SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

I've seen relatively small boats going out to browns. Maybe something like a 5.5 metre bowrider? That'll get around estuarys, although not super shallow stuff, easily get offshore and if conditions are good then get all the way out to tuna grounds like browns.

this is one thread i did think would get a lot of attention, as i am sure most of us have aspirations to one day have a bigger and better boat.
my little poly dose the job i bought her for rivers and bays are on problem for the boat but there is no way i will take her offshore. when i get the money together for a larger boat one of the brands i will be looking at is hooker from the states and with the strength of the OZY DOLLAR at the moment it is a good time to have a think about imported boats. the main feather of the hooker range is the fact that they are built with out the use of timber, so no chance of osmosis. hear are a couple of photos of the 5mt pro fisherman hope u like. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() hear is the link to hooker boats http://www.hookerboats.com/ This post has been edited by poly: Oct 20 2007, 06:57 PM -------------------- bugger it's sold, got meself a house instead
