Went out for a fish on Saturday night with Dad and the kids... smile1.gif

Left home at 9pm and in the water by 10pm...went for the first time to the new ramp on Foreshaw Rd Botany...what a fantastic boat ramp this is....easy to launch and plenty of parking and facilities...the only downside at the moment is trying to get to the bay at night through the zig zag course due to the Port Botany works...first time there so it was an effort trying to get out..

Water was calm and coming in to high tide.... smile1.gif

Anyway, fished the bay for about 3 hours at numerous places including drifting, but to no avail...no bites at all....very strange....was using chicken, prawns and burleying bread.mad.gif

Decided to head out to my usual spots in the Georges and on the first cast, my dad lands a 27cm bream...yummy...then for the next 2 hours we landed a number of under size bream...well at least we were getting bites and catching....

Then around 2am, my light rod buckles and zzzzzzzzz.....after a couple of minutes, i land a lovely 52cm Jewie on a small piece of chicken... this is my first legal Jew...the last one i caught a few weeks back was just undersize at 42cm.... smile1.gif

All in all, it was a fair finish to the night considering the slow start in the bay...bsck home by 4am....

Christos and I will be hitting the bay early on Monday for a days fishing....

I didn't think so majed !

Came in on low time & ended up scraping the sked on the ramp driving the boat on angle is not deep enough for my liking

Congrats on the catch

Good stuff on the Jew Majed... They are getting bigger. We were looking for you on Saturday super.gif

I dont like the ramp though. My reasons are, the pontoons are too long, very hard turning your boat around when its windy. Nowhere to stop after retrieval (i think... I didnt see one anywhere) And the ramp is very shallow (true story fed).. I had to bury the trailer for Jumpy to drive on...

I was out last week and thought I'd go and check out 4sure from the water side, I went through the 8Knt S bends then looked down the runway and thought it could take 30 minutes each way to get to & from the ramp. Turned the boat around after a few hundred metres and got the hell out of there. Life's too short.

How are you finding the new boat Majed and did you have any problems with the ramp?

It's hard to see the ramp being too shallow Bees it looked fine when I was there watching a couple of boats going in and out. Then again Jumpy says the Revesby ramp is no good too and I think Revesby is about as good as it gets aside from a bit of sand building up on it from power loading.

I'm aiming for a fish tomorrow (Tuesday), ealy start, early finish to beat the predicted wind.

Think I know wot I'm on about Fed

Ewe compare the angle of revesby & new pt botany ramps to the old Pt Botany & Cooks river ramps & there's a big difference

I had no probs @ the old ramp nor @ the Cooks river ramp 1st time on the new ramp driving up motor stalled cause prop bottomed on the ramp fortunately no real damage just a few tiny nicks.

Not saying you didn't have a problem Jumpy just saying that as ramps go both Revesby and 4sure are fairly normal slopes.
I hope you can adjust your technique enough to let you use 4sure safely being so handy for you.

The boat is going great...it is a top quality boat perfect for the family, fishing and lots of power...On Saturday night i found the ramp to be ok..it was high tide..i didn't like the trek out to the bay from there though..

Prob be able to find a way around it but still wont use that ramp again unless they remove that 8 knot zone

It's a real piss off
