Went out for a fish on Saturday night with Dad and the kids...
Left home at 9pm and in the water by 10pm...went for the first time to the new ramp on Foreshaw Rd Botany...what a fantastic boat ramp this is....easy to launch and plenty of parking and facilities...the only downside at the moment is trying to get to the bay at night through the zig zag course due to the Port Botany works...first time there so it was an effort trying to get out..
Water was calm and coming in to high tide....
Anyway, fished the bay for about 3 hours at numerous places including drifting, but to no avail...no bites at all....very strange....was using chicken, prawns and burleying bread.
Decided to head out to my usual spots in the Georges and on the first cast, my dad lands a 27cm bream...yummy...then for the next 2 hours we landed a number of under size bream...well at least we were getting bites and catching....
Then around 2am, my light rod buckles and zzzzzzzzz.....after a couple of minutes, i land a lovely 52cm Jewie on a small piece of chicken... this is my first legal Jew...the last one i caught a few weeks back was just undersize at 42cm....
All in all, it was a fair finish to the night considering the slow start in the bay...bsck home by 4am....
Christos and I will be hitting the bay early on Monday for a days fishing....
