I very begrudginly pay the fishing licence. I used to fish Jervis Bay every weekend years ago. I don't even bother now. It p(*&es me off that I pay for a licence to fish in less and less waters than when the licence first reared it's ugly head. I don't benefit one iota from the fees. brickwall.gif

how very true, when a license comes in you can bet it is the thin edge of the wedge, it is my belief that governments use that money to build a war chest so they can restrict us down the track. mad.gif

Well thats just crap. :fan: Down this way its turning good people into crimanals because they want to fish the no go zones. If you are caught its not a on the spot fine but a day in court, meanwhile they confiscate your boat and fishing gear. furious.gif They can then auction it off at low prices never to be seen again.furious.gif (it's not like were racing down the main street doing burnouts etc we are trying to catch our dinner) Then you show up in court, having to pay lawyers, court costs and a fine. Now you also have a Police record which will make it harder to get a honest job. furious.gif

Yep Yep it is Bullsh*t but even worse is that it encourages smaller boats to venture out further treading into more dangerous waters.

Yep Yep Mado I'm prob one of the biggest critics of the fishing licence fee's that you'd ever meet esp after knowning how much they rake in from the fee's.

I've said it B4 , think the only way those fee's can get abolished is for fishermen to rally & take out a class action againt the state government.

We would win as well simply because the introduction of the licence was to buy out the LFB licences & they did just that in the 1st 6 months & all the authorities have done since is squander our $$$$'s on bullsh*t.

I'm out fushing with a mate who's got figures /cost of each of those FAD"S

May even have a guessing comp but I think the correct answer would be safe you guys will have a spew @ how our licence fee's are @ work mad.gif

The amount of ships will get worse when they close down the sydney harbour wharfs/docks and direct all container ships to botany bay.

Its all crap, shoot em all and let god sort em out.

Yep Yep & you're right off the mark as well

Try $ 250 , 000 per FAD

Topic came up on saturday when we were out marlin fushing & I'm hoping Jimbooky was correct & my spots aren't included in the No Anchor Zones.

Wouldn't be surprised if all this came about just to keep boats right away from the oil wharf & Molineux Pt

When I was fishing sort of irregular at Molineux Point they put in a fence to stop people from getting across. This did not stop people as we held on to the fence on the climb down. Then walked throught the hole in the fence. When I went there after years of not being there the fence has sort of mostly gone. So it was much easier to walk across to sit down for a fish. biggrin.gif
