Quick tip from a man who I call "Mr Port Hacking" (and for good reason!)...if fishing dead baits, fish with NO WEIGHT and with the BAIL ARM OPEN! You want the fish to run with the bait for a bit, so leave the bail arm open and let it run. Any weight added will make the fish drop the bait all together. He has landed literally thousands of Jews from the decades he's been fishing the Hacking and his PB is 62lb using this method.
Onya for getting out there though, try this method and your fish should come, that's what happened to me!
P.S. The legal size for flatties is 36cm, not 35cm. Keeping undersized fish is WRONG mate.

Nope, I suggested that but he said that the slight amount of pressure the Baitrunners give off can sometimes cause the fish to drop the bait. He says NO resistance at all.

Where bouts ya fishing dan? Ill be up there in a month and would like to get out on the hacking..
Generally fish around southwest arm, and along the ballast heaps but keen to try a few differant places.
If get the right boat will head outside maybe down south from the bommie for some kings
