JG asked for a wake up call, so I woke around 4.15am and was too scared to go back to sleep for half an hour, in case I didn't wake up in time. Had to let the phone ring through twice, until JG picked up. I was surprised that Steve didn't come along, but heard something about smoke free zones and beauty sleep. Anyway Jumpus and I had the boat in the water by 8am. The breeze was starting to come up and we moved around a bit, to try and find some fish - on lures. Nothing was doing. The tide was racing in and the wind was picking up, but the fish were not playing today. The sun was very fierce though, and we all got burnt. At long last, Jumpus hooked a small flattie which came up to the boat without much of a fight at all - that is, until it saw the boat, then it realised it was hooked. A nice little lizard of 48cm. Many hundreds of cast and very little to show for it. I got one hit all day, and landed the last fish of the day, another small flattie of around 45cm. The wind was powering in at around 25knots now, and the river was very choppy, so we called it a day. Popped in to see Poly and Possum, so we all now had faces to names. Good to meet them. Jumpus gave Poly some hooks, Poly gave me some new poppers and I offered everyone a vegemite and cheese sandwich- which was declined. We then went around to see Bob (Arnie Dog) and spent an hour listening to tall tales, but true

We didn't catch many fish, but the trip was great and we had some laughs and socialised with good people of like mind. Have to do it again soon.
