I'm using a '96 Falcon Wagon on the Seafairy, it does it easily.
My previous car was an old '79 351 LTD, it was a pleasure towing with that.

I'm using a 98 Toyota Prado 4WD to tow my 15 foot Nautiglass V150 Cuddy Cab...
Tows it like a breeze......I converted the 4wd to dual fuel which is now cheap as chips to run...

Hey Southcoaster, I use a dual cab Rodeo 4WD, But if I were you at 12 years of age I would wait until I was 17 and get a licence before towing it around too much.

OH and bye the way, try going FORWARD your'e supposed to PULL it not PUSH.

holden jackaroo it dose the job i can tell u its got more grunt than a pen full of pigs.
the thing is it brakes down to much and will be replaced

dad uses a 98 holden rodeo dual cab4x4...
pulls it with ease...
4x4 if the ramp has sand on it or a big slope...
or when my cousin towed my boat he had a holden rodeo dual cab with no hand brake
i had o put the boat off and on by my self...

97 Pajero , 3.5 petrol V6 and i'm the second owner , needless to say it had been kept in great nic .

And Poly i've had it a year & a half , it's got just under 200thou on the clock .

I've kept up with the services but at the same time i have given it a hell of a hard time and knock on wood ..... it's been bloody sensational , only let the missus down once ....... cause she left the lights on . Man i tell ya this things just as reliable as me old slant six Val .

I used ta put shi7 on the ol'pajero but i've been eating my words since , my Pajero or the " CanyoneroPajero " as i like to call it has been by far our best Family car , the kids just loooove it .

SMELLY I had a 92 pajero 2.5 diesel, and by far the best 4b i have ever owned, dam i miss that old wagon, when i sold it it had 6003.000 k the bloke who bought it fitted a new Hyundai t3 motor and rebuilt the serpention and gear box, at a cost of just over 9 grand, if i had known the t3 was the same motor i would have dune it my self

ive got a 1996 jeep cherokee 4 litre ,that i use to tow ma boat, does the job really well , little bit thirsty on fuel wround town but once its on the open road its really great on fuel

My 1957 Goggomobile has trouble towing my 8ft car topper, but it is more reliable than the old car.

Both the ute and sedan are xr8's towing a 95 model 5.3m caribbean cobra. Have to look in the mirror to see if she is still there :boat: The ute is better on fuel than the sedan though.

Gonna miss the ute. Nearly ready for an upgrade I've been looking at those nissan dual cabs

Had the Navara about 14 months now brilliant tow vehicle mile of room inside & out in the tray.

Think any of the guys here who've been away with me will vouch how good a car it really is

When towing the little 4.8 meter tinny you dont even know it's on the back even the bigger 7.3 meter plate boat is no probs @ all coast up say Mt Ously sitting on 80 klms per hour without touching the accelerator & a couple of times I shat when looking @ speedo was doing 170 klms per hr with big boat on the back without even realising how quick I was going very smooth & stable tow vehicle V6 has more than enough grunt.

Prior to the Navara I had a Jeep like Husters a 4 litre straight 6 that car struggled towing the little boat up big hills & as hustler said very thirsty car & the main reason I got rid of it originally a crappy tow vehicle untill I added a pair of air bags to the suspension after that it was pretty good wouldn't stray on the road @ all.

Hey Jed, Jumpus has a Navara its not too bad on the highway, uses a bit of fuel to go from Sydney to Manilla ( VIA LITHGOW) It's not too bad to drive, but it's a bit rough around the paddocks. Just ask Dave

I like the comfort of my Rodeo but fuel consumption is a bit high towing the boat around, my mate has a RA Diesel and gets a bit better, but the fuel costs 12c per litre extra.

My lease runs out in feb. My drama is when im fishing with the lads and not the kids. Always have to take the ute so someone is driving themselves to the ramp.
Dont want to leave the family stranded because the mates want to go an wet a line.

I have had a good look at them... Do you have the current shape or the model before??

The xr8 is full of comfort.. I haven't had a travellers f@t for 4 years. bumpy rides.. those 4wd's :doctor:

Yep it's the current model
Back when I got it there was not a single one in the country & mine is not the Navara STX
It's the Navara RV model with all the STX features in it all exept for cruise control which I'm spewing about cause it didn't click to me @ the time.

What you see in pic below is how it stood on showroom floor



Only extra's that I added were Towbar , Air Bags , Spotlights & I pee'd off the CD player put in a MP3 player with amp etc.

I might add when I was looking there were plenty of 2wd's but the 4wd's were 3 months away from delivery & I was nearly going to buy a Hi Lux think the Navara was a much better choice one of the features that swayed me were the split fold and fold up rear seats when up there's so much room in the back it's not funny.

Plus I had a Nissan 300 ZX a few years earlier & that car never gave me one ounce of bother in the 5 odd years I owned it no different to my Yamaha outboards I stick with what has been reliable.

Whats the difference in $$$ between the Toyota.

And if I'm going to drive around with a travellers, I need cruise control

Not sure price difference but think Navara is a touch cheaper & purchase price will depend on wot you ask for in the car

The STR does have cruise control as a standard feature as I said earlier mine is the RV model with virtually all the STR options
