Christos
I have been speaking to Majed recently and it was suggested that he and I go fishing on Botany Bay. The topic came up between us that we are not familiar with the Bay and it's fishing spots and possibilities.

The question would be where would be the best place to start fishing the Bay. We would be happy to get PM from the members if posting this information is a little too vivid.

The day that we are planning to go is on the 21st of Dec.

There is always a back up plan and that would involve just doing what we normally do and start from the Georges river and travel toward the ocean.

Christos when i start to look for a new place in a bay or off shore i start with the ADMIRALTY chart for the airer, the thing i am looking for are reefs and bombey's, if u can find them it's a fair chance u will get fish.
To give u an idea, on my map of JERVIS BAY there is a point marked bombera rock and in brackets {brake} this is a good indicator of reef, i hope this will help u find fish.
it is my understanding that there are also artificial reefs in bot bay so check the n.s.w. fishery's site for the g.p.s. marks, enjoy your fishing and let us know how u go. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Q cant be answered that accurately

Yep you can go & try spots but they vary depending on tide wind direction etc.

Fishing the Bay or any place for that matter requires patience fish dont allways rock up right away & to many peeps do spot hopping sometimes it takes oner an hour for fish to start biting.

yep, how true is that, but what i said is a start after that it is a case of put in the time and work it out, enjoy. biggrin.gif
Majed
We can always start near the 3rd runway and work from there....the fish finder should pickup some reefs around the bay....
Christos
Good thinking Majed. Why not just turn around and chat to me in person. dry.gif

Hang on you are more than 1.5 meters away from me that is too far.

Must have forgotten how to speak better to type. Oh and thank you for the lunch. biggrin.gif
Christos
What no response. This is now a one sided conversation.

And thank you for the spell check, Majed.

you will find there isn't that many reefs , most of the bay is flat sandy bottom, only watts reef , and around bare island
hustler57
hey fisho

well you have watts reef over near kurnell way, but be carefull if u anchor up there as you are likely to snagg ur anchor.

you can drift around the flats at towra point,

you can drift around the bait grounds which is around the cnr from towra,

you got the 3rd run way,

Good thinking Majed.

Bad thinking Batman laugh.gif

Only reefs in the Bay are out near the heads

Christos you should ask SteveP directly (he's the brains behind Jumpy's successes), Steve is the 'quiet' one who goes about catching fish without any fanfare.
I've asked Steve about the Bay before and he's given me detailed answers. No Bull.

Alot of Good that's done ewe Fed
Fed
All the info Steve has given me will be put to use soon enough, I'm going to send him a map of the Bay to mark up for me too.
Christos
I wish to thank everyone that has replied.

I will discuss with Majed and see what our options will be closer to the day that we are planning to go. This far out is forecast of rain, we shall see.

Christos
Fed
As you said Christos you can always use your backup plan and fish the river if the Bay is too rough.
Rain rain go away....
