Haven't had much of a chance to go fishing but late last Monday arvo saw Snapper Man and this old man miander out to Little Beecroft to spend some time catching up and hoping to catch a nigger or two. It had been a few mths since we had fished and the blackies were not playing the game back then. Fish would be a bonus, it is the time as mates and having a laugh that's important. The 25 min walked past in a flash and if you go out there be prepared to walk thru some thick bush it is totally over grown with all the rain.

Didn't take take long for the first down and a nice fish of a bout a 1kg was being washed up on the green carpet like weed that encompasses this part of the platform. Man it looked good as Wayne just slid it over the weed up to where the pliers and keeper net were.

With the tide making it was out of of the norm for the fish to be on the bite here but they were and so who were we to argue. Double hook ups were on every second or third cast. It had been so long since I had enjoyed this type of fishing. It was actually therapeutic not to be thinking of lifes woes.

We had a fabulous few hours and left there at 7.15pm with 15 fish and still bitting. We managed to get a few decent pigs out from the bommie but we were no chance on 4kg trace once they got close to the rock face they just went into hyper drive and BAM !! We let quite a few go as we only always take enough for a feed. If your down this way and we are free it is really worth the walk and view the fish are just an added bonus. " And it goes on and on and on and on........................................when sining this ditty the shuffle must be performed. Whats the Shuffle??? Just ask Steve.. By the way the niggers got a bit spooky so down sized our baits to the size of a 5cent piece and just a single leaf. Never missed a hook up after that. It pays to change tactics at times. We berleyed to the minimum. They might be only black fish some of the big game fishermen might say but they will test you if you are not a thinker. Sometimes you need to think outside the square with the non reflective ones. Just A Thought

Geez you're stretching my memory now if there's one thing I used to really enjoy it was float fishing for niggers off the stones been along time since I've done that.

WELL what are u waiting for J G the must be some spots around the bay where u can go and float some weed, i believe it is one of the best forms of fishing there is especially if using a center pin reel
