I have caught loads off Broughton Island beach. 7' rod - bait, lure, 8lb line. They became a pest, as I was targeting flatties. Hard to get off the hooks. Aligator teeth. Tough skin. Fun though.

Poly. The ones up at Nelson Bay/Broughton were like pirhanna. Ate anything and everything. Have also caught them up in the Gulf. There are none in Burley Griffin though

hey poly , I remember a day out in the bay flicking plastics they were hitting them as soon as the lure hit the water . and also on the retrieve . mind you there were heaps there at the time. they will go anything, hook size doesnt mater too mutch as there gob opens like an aligater, long and wide.
the only prob. is finding them , and if there around. as iv caught them sometimes as a bycatch.

Can you get them in the Harbour? I've seen people catch them on TV, the Long Toms jump A LOT!
