George. This machine ( which you would know ) is now over 5 years old. It is still running perfectly with no apparent faults. But I have been told 5 years is old for a computer ?. So IF I were to upgrade with a new one what would you recommend ? and would you have a new you beaut unit . Not needing a lot of user space as this one is only less than 10% capacity, but I would want a fast machine as I am used to this one and NBN speed which I think is pretty good.
What would you suggest ?.

Think I will end up buying a Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF i7-4770 QC 3.4Ghz 16GB Ram 128Gb SSD Win 10 Desktop PC $340 .

All the big company's use them Banks etc so they must do the job. And they are cheap. Haven't made up my mind yet as not sure I really need a new one, using computer less every week and these days don't really need much more than about 1/4 hour a day on the bloody thing, just habit that I sit in front of the think and scroll the screen.

lol Dell are mass produced and most are all in one so the graphic , sound are all just chips on the board . They are not a bad unit same as the Lenovos they have the bottom to the top in range that why you see a lot of refurbished unit as computers up date.
5 years well to be honest computers are out dated every 3 to 4 months with the developments of SSD , M2ssd ddr4 ram etc.
My computer I'm using is about 8 plus year old , with out looking at my records to your specs ,I would suggest a simply upgrade of a ssd hdd if your happy with the performance which start from about $80.00 for a 240gb or a 480gb and you would find the performance increased by about 20% plus eg I have a ssd in my unit load time was 1minute now about 20 seconds.
The i7 4770 they where discontinue about 2 to 3 years ago and the Dell Optiplex 9020 was about 2013 when it was released and discontinue in about 2016.
Like all computers it comes down to what you want them to do and that where the costs come into it like here are some refurbished I get offered to me every day and that is my cost which excludes Gst

All of these usually come from a University or a corporate company.

So my suggestion would be look at the these items SSD HDD , extra ram and maybe a cpu upgrade to your present box.

As for a new one I have heaps of parts available or premade units from my suppliers starting from About $800.00 up just for the box.
All come down to your requirements.

Unfortunately all that computer jargon goes right over the top of my head. This one is still running fine so guess I will hang onto it for a while longer. No way I could pay that much for a computer.

As I said Frank a simple upgrade to a ssd hard drive plus maybe a bit of ram and you will notice a big difference
