Full Version: Electric Jockey Wheel
Fishing oz style > Chat > Boating Talk

I bought myself a electric jockey wheel so I can get the boat from back yard out to the road,
Can't do it by myself as I am just not strong or fit enough, this little device gets the job done with no effort.
It's slow but then so am I these days, travels at around 7metres per minute, takes about 7-8 minutes to get it out to the driveway so I can hook
the trailer onto the car. Take the whole thing including the 20amp hour battery off when the trailer is connected.

Can't get the photos right way up.

They boast 3500kg pulling power but I think that would be pushing it.
I was going to make one from an electric winch I have in a box brand new but this worked out easier, I got the 20 amp hour battery as it states 18 amp minimum.

Ps the boat hasn't been out yet, still working on it.

Paul You need to move back near the water, you can't use a boat up on a hill.

very true, but remember we are just two hours from the lovely Twofold bay and its massive kingfish, snapper, squid, bream and Flathead.
Now that we are retired, what the hell we can stay as long as we like and then return to the peace and quite of owe mountain home.
