I just don't get it, B.C.F. have the sounder I wish to buy [the furuno LS4100] for $330 plus transducer so off I go to B.C.F.to get a quote for the transducer.

I am approached by a young man who offers to help, i explane to the young man what i need and he replies I am sorry I cant help you, we don't sell the transducers just the head unit.
so I have wasted a trip into Fishwick for no result. so i ask you why would you sell the head unit and not the transducer AAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Bias have them $449 including transom mount transducer.

If you were wearing your rug & asked for a tranny I don't doubt the young man bolted Poly.

I did in fact ask that very question J.G. but they only sell the head unit.
it turns out that furuno pack some of there units this way so you can pick the transducer most suited to your needs, there is a bronze, transom mount or through hull transducer available for the LS 4100
