After getting smoked on the 1st 2 fish they put out the 37 kg outfit to nail this wun

Yes fellas, i did duck out for an arvo session yday.

Between too much work and the process of setting up a company its been almost 3 weeks without a fish. Definately the longest period for a long time!

Couldnt launch at Long Reef cause there was a big swell rolling through and i was solo, so i had to drop it in Manly and swing around.

Once i was past North Head it was full throttle with the Westerlies flattening things out.

With a Northerly current i decided to go to a spot that fishes well for Snapper in it.

Anchored up and set a nice berley trail but heaps of Mados kept pinching my bait but i did manage 2 Reds at 40 cm and a thumper of a Bonnie that was over 2 kg but caught on dental floss so thing took over 10 min and went on some amazing runs. He'l make good bait for this weekend!

My rod with the tiny livies kept getting smashed but i couldnt manage to land anything on it cause i kept getting busted off.
Il find out what they were in the coming days...

I did hook up a Trag but dropped him half way up.

Also found a nice bit of ground out Queenscliff that was definately holing Snapper, but because it was dusk and i didnt want to hang around after dark i couldnt stay long and established a berley trail.

But i did tie off to a fish trap for half an hour and dropped a King at the boat. I punched in the mark and il be visiting the place again soon to spend some time there.

I'd like to correct what I'd originally said

Got a ling ling this morn & the plick woke me up so I assumed it was another mate of mine who nailed the fish just the way it came across in conversation & reason why I dont believe everything I hear.

Anyways called in to see yje mate I assumed caught the BFT & got the correct version of events, he wasn't fishing that day last munday.

Boat that did hook the fish was outside Browns , they did get smoked by 2 fish prior on a double hookup, decided to put out the 37kg gear & hooked the est 120 kg fish.

It was lost @ the boat

Had a look @ the live SST's 2day not those Booshite wuns on the net great looking water about 35miles out @ presnt can change overnight

Those who know where I like to cube , well a 35kg & 40 kg YFT got taken in that area on lures yesterday

Also the long liners have been cleaning up on SBT out wide wide

And yes Bees I did tell you the fin had arrived I felt it in my boner weather has been lousy so not many if any have ventured out to try their luck.

On another note bloody Japs have recorded their best ever year in regards to YFT fishing just outside Australian waters dont know if this is a good or bad thing for us.

low pressure system coming through will hopefully push that water back up again.

Water I'm refering to holds the big fin, either way the rat 40 keggers should still be out there

Did sum sleepies last sunday & got up late, a mate lives down in thiroul & was going to drive down & fush with him 4 reds
They've been going off on Splastics.

Anyways when I walked outside around brunch time not a breathe of wind so hooked up the wittle goat, thought hacking would be busy so towed down to bellambi.

had heard of 2 SBT taken on flyday 130 kg & 131 kg & did see a carcuss @ the ramp along with Alby frames

Ran into some mates out on the water & only 2 reds between the 2 boats so I snuck in a bit closer to land & was getting blurters on the sp's , didn't go all that way 4 blurters so went out wider of the boys only to find fonsy jackets.

Getting late in the arvo by now & wun of the boys kept motoring that told me he'd found the reds by the time I'd lecky'd over he was getting ready to call it a day they'd gotten 4 fush held wun up for me 2c nice red of around 3kg.

other boat was also going so I was left there all on my own without supervision, finally a bit of run in the current & sounder started showing snapper, I dropped the 1st fish @ the boat trying to get the bloody net out a velly nice red of around 5kg.

A few more missed hookups & a wee wittle wun of around 1kg.

2molly looks ok weatherwise so may do a sneaky sneaky& go catch red on arnotts bicky
