Thought I'd do sum ting different 2day
I went fushing this arvo

Decided to give the Bay a big miss cause of all pesty wittle snappa taking baits
Made no difference cause they were outside as well, wittle bastards kept knocking off the baits & with the swell the way it was every time a baitrunner went off it screamed with me thinking there was a good size fushy on the other end

Chooks to that logic.

Twas getting a bit frustrating having to continually re- bait all the time so I switched over to SP's & it was more or less instant success
Snapper now started getting over the 35 cm mark & then the mac tuna & Bonito started rocking up for a bit of fun.

Decided to go with bigger plastics after an hr or so of this & got slamed on the 3rd cast & bno way I could stop wotever took the SP reel was smoking & I was now on the 6kg outfit, signs had Kung Fooey written all over it.

Re - rig & 2nd cast same thing happened

Fushys = 2
Jumpus = 0

Re - rig & 4th cast I pulled up tight once again, this time I backed the drag off & it worked had the fish to the boat in a few minutes & all was going GooDarus till it saw my melon
it took off like a bat out of hell & even tightening the drag made no difference once again I got smoked
did get a good look @ it though good size kung around the 90 cm mark if not over

Wasn't going to win these battles so I put the smaller Sp back on & ended up with wot I think is a Black Trevally

It's a Cottonmouth Trevally and there are heaps around the FAD's. Pretty sure some people call them Black trevs though. Did you notice the mouth is bright white? Frustrating dolly bycatch IMO.

Now that is fishy saga.

I get no pleasure from scull draging fish to the boat & if they're GooDarus enough to beat me on the tackle I'm using then they deserve their freedom

See wot the wind is doing 2morro arvo may sneak out & give that spot another go

scull dragging!!!!!!!!!! no not what i was thinking, when targeting kings in the 1mt to a meter plus range i would think a 10kg out fit to be the way to go, what do you think after all we are talking about a very powerful fish.
