Went out yesterday for the first time in ages. went in search of squid for a result of only 1 in 1 1/2 hours. After sticking our head outside, it was too messy to stick close to the rocks so trolled the headlands inside.
Found some nice bait and concentated on the school. 20mins and a 60cm king came onto the boat... Nice little fight but she went back. We were also trolling up some bonito which are great fun.
Bait fished the high tide for undersize snapper and managed some yakkas on steriods, but that was about it...
I am slowly learning to set up for the day and target a particular species, but it's hard to break old methods.. Even though we only got 1 squid, it went to a kingy, so i was happy with that. The water way murky in all the bays, but there were so many boats moored in them, i was thinking this was the reason for it..
Anyway, im glad we finally got out there for a session..
