Phone was going crazy yesterday with peeps I know ling linging me

All with the same porky tail to tell

A 26 kg YFT got landed in the hacking on tuesday, last time I'd heard sum ting like that was 15 odd years back when a good school of YFT stayed in the hacking for 3 weeks.

Anyways wun of the ling lingers was busting my balls to go check it out, didn't take much to persuade me cancelled taking the goat to Merc & got chris to sort it out.

Even got up B4 the sparrows started their Far Tings this morn

Tis a hard wun to gear up for so took a full arsenal of outfits on the boat not to mention tackle box's

YFT were feeding on frigates & they can be a bitch to catch if ewe haven't got a similar lure to wot they're feeding on, so dicided on a backup plan & went to fill LBT up with squiddys.

Jumpus was on fire had 1/2 doz in tank B4 David cliped a lure to his rod, I let him have wun cast & told him thats it we're going

Headed back into the river to where to YFT had been caught but saw no surface action all day

Wasn't going to just sit there way ting so down went a squiddy on the Scotty2Hotty

Learnt alot about the Hacking 2day from David tis his backyard, places I'd never fushed B4 & prob never would of thought to fush

Anyways no sign of YFT nor any other surface action exept tailor but we did get a Kung & dropped another wun, so much baitfushy's in the hacking got shown sneaky sneaky secret pillchard catching spot tossed a few SP's there & had more sqiddy's follow SP's so out came the squid rod again.

Kung was a fat wittle bastard esp compared to the lean wuns in Botany Bay a touch over 67 cm's



Also a day of a 1st 4 me I'd never caught an Amberjack Russel B4 & today I did well sort of I actually caught tree of them this wun took a squiddy not much of a fight on 15 kg lineclass



Time was nearing lunchtime & time for David to go sell sum LOX rodsso I took him back to the ramp wot a relief that was cause now I got to go fush on my own

Quick trip back outside to fill up LBT with sum more squiddys [could sit there all day fushing for them, find it velly relaxing] doz in the tank & I was off wanted to go SP'n for those Amberjacks on the light gear, found them where we'd hooked the 1st wun lucky to have moved 10 meters from earlier on.

Had ball on the 3 kg stick till they went quiet, so decided to go do sum Scotty2Hotting again, droped the 1st Kung when hooks pulled but me tinks it was a good wun cause this ting was pulling drag off the reel.

Next wun was undersized but velly FAT, called it a day after the next wun another undersised both just under

Looks like a good day out..well done...

The water looks so calm and relaxing........

I caught one at Shark Island Catch and one day coming back in we hadn't bothered pulling in the lures and a mate hooked and fought a Marlin in Yarra Bay.
Seven jumps in seven minutes then ping, it wasn't a little spitfire either and we all got a real good look at it.

Boat that got that YFT last tuesday nailed a 8 kg Mack Tuna @ same spot

Pretty sure I know the boat trolled past them yesterday & their tackle gave them away

wow that spots got me thinking .. i always try getting live squidys but i never have any luck only get the big ones and if i do get a small one its only one or two !

Very few big wuns about @ the moment tis all the wittle wuns but they'll be big wuns in a few months as well
Squid have a life span of only 18 months so they grow quickly.

With squid if ewe get wun then cast straight back to the very same spot they travel in small heards like billy goats

Ewe'll generally hit within seconds if cast lands in same spot

ive always prefered the hacking over the bay anyday but its a little 2 far for me to go most of the time, so i just go to the bay,

theres 2 little spots i know of in the hacking tht always produce a good catch, but yft of that size..... hmm with out pics id say its prob the same guys that caught the big fishy at the moons remember the 1 that was smoking the line a few weks ago...

I'm afraid ewe know very little about YFT & their habits to pass judgement whether the report was true or bullshit

15 years back when ewe weren't wearing pants & doing your wee wee's in your nappies a good sized school of YFT were up in the arm every day for 3 weeks they'd come in & out with the tides feeding on baitfish & quite a few of them got landed by those who new about them

Show me a pic or some actual proof of the catch and I'll believe it. Not just word of mouth. It's possible a YFT was caught......but without pics......I'll believe it when I see it. Gimme proof and I'll take back everything.

I guess it's too much to ask for some proof when it comes to claims like these? I'm not saying it's impossible for YFT to travel into the Hacking. Just very unlikely. Even more unlikely that someone managed to catch one. Like you said, last time it happened was many years ago. If it did indeed happen, then there must be pics, or maybe the club has some info? I think it's perfectly reasonable to have doubts when someone claims a YFT like that in an estuary.

I could read google and post all kinds of stuff too... but I have a life outside of fishing and forums and arguing shit i dont know about too...

I put up reports for informational purposes, to keep sites interesting and to keep mates in the loop. Reports are the blood of every fishing site. I actually only put that Port trip up on three sites: Sydney Angler because they organised it, SFF because I have mates there who I like to keep in the loop and I did get some info from some members there, and TFS because it's a small site with few reports, so a fresh one doesn't hurt the site at all - try to keep it interesting as it does tend to get stale. So actually, I put it up on only a few sites compared to how many I'm a part of.

Yes, it's nice to get compliments, but I don't put up reports so I can just gloat. Which site I put reports up on is up to me. If I want to put it up here, I'll do so. Honestly my first reaction to that comment is to just say go f*ck yourself.

I will say this though, it's a shame if members start leaving because the site is becoming, like so

My comments were to mainly hope that members would think twice before making rash and hasty statements about leaving the site because of some posts that are arguementive.
