Picked up 1/2 doz of these jigs B4 xmas after last saturday only had a couple left so thought I'd top up the tackle box like last time I couldn't be bothered opening all the cartons to go though all the designs

There was just to bloody many of them

Quick run down on the jigs now that I've used them a few times

Not here to big note them cause if ewe know how to catch squiddies ewe'll catch them on any jig even the El Cheapo wuns

Wot I did like with these Yoshi's was their balance in the water & how they were weighted to the size of the jig when the jig sank it was never in a hurry to get to the bottom leaving it in the zone alot longer than other jigs

Personally I've only managed to snag weed 1/2 doz times using them & I've put in a hell of alot of casts

Jigs aren't cheap but worh the $$'s

I've been told this model is not the top of the line Yoshikawa either only 2nd best

These are sum of the colours I grabbed

How much do they retail for? I've had problems with Yoshikawa jigs pulling their barbs out. Having said that, I've caught squid on them.

I picked a few up when Compeat Angler put them in a bargain bin, I think they were $6 each?

Good guess alot of shops will be doing this to make room for the new type

If ewe see them again stock up @ that price cause there's nothing wrong with that model in fact Toovlo was using that model last saturday & accounted for 5 off the 6 squid we got.

Day B4 on the rocks I got all 3 using the new model & those 2 days were the worst I've encounted fushing for squid now that the full moon is over I'm curious how much it improves.

ps] not in pic I also picked up 3 5 gram'ers giant wuns for outside deep water

Actually it was a big cuttle. Or maybe the mother of all calamari, but odds are given the massive weight and huge pulses, I'd guess cuttle. The jig was pretty new and I was disappointed by the fact that it broke down like that.

$13 is a bit steep, if I can find them for a bargain again then I might stock up to get some cheapies.

Got a looky @ the top of the range yoshi's 2day in fact 2 of them are sitting in my car rolleyes.gif

If ewe reckon $13 is steep for a squiddy lure ewe'll do poo poo's in your pants when ewe see the $25 price tag on these babies.

Dozen samples arrived yesterday & these are spoofylacockassen the material has sum sort of reflective gizzmo embedded in it which traps then reflects ligt

Haven't tried any as yet but am keen to moreso cause I'm intrigued to see if wot they say about the light really works.

A mae of mine fitted LED light's on his transm 2b turned on @ night t attract the squides & yes peeps squid are attracted to light we were out doing a bit of Broadbill fushing many moons ago, Genset running all night with floodights on we had sqillions of torpedo squidie around the goat all drawn to us by the flood ights we were scooping them in with a landing net.

Didn't fancy mounting the LED's to my transom so wot I did was got myself a prawn light haven't used it yet

Viva have broght in a really nice wun now the previou wuns they had were quite crappy using a halogen globe, & running ff 12 volts

Te new wuns re twice the price but ewe pay for quality, not certain if it's 13 r 19 LED globes completely waterproof it takes AA batteries no probs using rechargable wuns either.

Tose who dont know LED's use up bugger all power.

So there ewe goes that was a Jumpus Tip for those finding it hard to catch squidies use light even those fushing land based would benefit using wun f these light

If ewes ask nicely there's wun more tip out of a boat rig 3 squid lures in disy chain & le themhang out the back f the goat make sure the jigs are unweighted just tie a sinker on the bottom of the chain
