Full Version: Training Day!
Fishing oz style > Chat > Gilligan's Island

Training commenced last Saturday with all going well for the first 20 mins then it came time to crawl across the floating mat and young Mr decided to sit on his bum and cry, the rest of the lesson was a lot of crying and plenty of chlorinated water being drunk.

This Saturday was a totally different story apart from the pool water drinking hysterical.gif , young Mr's older sisters and brother were there to support young Mr and to take a few happy snaps, there were no tears only smiles, giggles and a lot of yelling when the older siblings weren't watching. Pic's attached of our future fisho in his water training and some including one very chuffed dad! smile1.gif super.gif

Hope you all enjoy.
Cheers

Cheers Jed, can't wait to get my youngest out and into some fishing.
Fed
Good pics Storms and a good idea to get him swimming early.
The problem with very little kids is that they sink like bricks, quickly & silently. I had a couple of near misses with both of mine when they were about that age.
Do they still teach kids how to swim at school now days?

Yes fed

They teach them how to swim like Rocks

I believe it's called the Rock Stroke

Teachers came up with the technique in a bid to keep class sizes down

My older children did the school swimming a few years back, thet learnt much more doing the after school private lessons, our 13yo daughter is currently squad training with children her age and a few years older-still buggers me how she does butterfly so well.

Talk about swimming stones.....went down to Stanwell park on sunday with the family and while having some fun with the kids in the shallows saw a young child run into the water, face plant and then she was above her head in the close gutter, she was really struggling and couldn't get her head above water-my wife yelled at her family to help and they just stood there in their sheets and head towels and watched as I retrieved the child who was very distressed. I returned the child to the towelled headded ones and there was no 'thanks for the help. Gotto feel sorry for their children with foolish parents like that.........Was a good catch estimate a healthy 15kg dark towell stone fish-PB for me hysterical.gif
