yes peeps as it reads i tried fishing off the jet ski on saturday.

after a nice coffee down at the local fishing tackle shop i dercided to go out for a ski as i have just serviced it and put a race prop in the lass. so decided to see who was out called a few people and they had advised me that not many people went out because of the 2.5m swell ha there lose it would have been 1.5 max anyway decided to call jimbooky, jumpus's dear old friend !!! roflmao!!! and he said he was getting amoungst some stripys off greeny so charged to maroubra which with the tuned up ski and new prop only took 8 min from the heads hehehe. (anyone wanna race ??? )

saw jimmy at greeny with a double hook up of stripys and getting spooled fast so decided to give him a hand by getting him to jump on the ski and chase down the fish !! at 60MPH advice don’t do this fish can’t swim that quick so we lost that one but the good thing with the ski we could sneek up on school and get within 2 or 3 metres of them without spooking them !! And for sum reason they kept coming around the ski i don’t know if the dark colour of the hull had nothing to do with it ??

Back to the story, after having jimmy on the ski and him being more of a pain than nething else i dumped him back to his boat but stole his rod actually pestered him until he gave me it lol. Then proceeded to chase the schools around the rocks with a few solid hook-ups but nothing came of them although i could see that the schools of fish were defiantly stripys...

After mucking around for an hour or so decided to head back in so blasted back to the heads when i spotted out the corner of my eye a few birds working hard so decided to have a look so did 2 other trailer boats. Cut the engine about 10m away from the schools and it was mayhem everywhere the front off shakies looked like a milk shake..... with fish everywhere with stripys and a few bigger fish which i couldn’t id as i couldn’t see them properly but they weren’t stripys and if they were massive stripys...

Stuck around the school for a bit doing a bit of testing to see if when the motor was on i sent them deep and a few other little tests then decided to come back in. I got in line with shakies then i had a fish which looked like a small striped only round 40kg not lit up breech in front of my ski. Then did the harry holt on me so i took the chance of opening my water resistant compartment and got on the mobile to jimmy to come down and pull a few lures around the area cause if there was one there was a good chance there were more. Waited for about a hour no show from jimmy but left the area on the boil. Apparently jimmy came to the area and hooked up later on to sumthing that cracked half a spool on his 24kg outfit but never saw the fish....

Well im definatly going to give it a go and i have my eye on a hand held water resistant VHF and i have a hand held gps so all i have to do is work out a setup for the back of the rig !!!

HAHAHA welll the cubes can go in the first compartment and the live bait inthe second tank which holds 70L!!! oh and i have my old sounder which is the orginal one from the boat but it now works !!!

with fuel prices the way they are im going to bring out a range of micro game boats !!!!!

Alex what ski have you got....there are some set-ups currently available, pretty nifty jobbies with a couple rod holders and a esky/live bait tank combo.......saw these on a kiwi website!
