jumpy this build is OVER, so why not leave it open there will be questions that will be asked in the future, perhaps even years down the track.
those of us that post here on a regular basis know how mush you hate spam in this type of thread, so just delete it, will we think less of you for that, of course not, with the 5mt build duel threads would be a great idea one that can be followed in it intoretory, buggered if i know how to spell that word, and one open to conversion

We may have lost a couple of those threads but if memory serves me there were @ least 5 - 6 spin off threads 1st was by christos wanting to know wot trammels were.

Personally I thought the spin off threads were good value & very popular.

Like I said I think if any bloody wants to view the builds they should be able to uninterupted.

Slight wittle boo boo on the new build spent most of the day rectifying it if I remember to take the camera 2morro I'll take a few update pics cause monday I'm off 4 a fush.

Alex rang 2day I was surprised he had reception out widethey'd just droped a YFT then the ph cut out so dont know how he faired the rest of the day didn't even get a chance to tell him the site is up again so he could tell some porky's in a report

indeed you did cover it Ange, but as I said this build is over so why not leave it open. Think about it, bob the builder with welder in one hand and scratching the head with the other, and not a clue were to start will most likely wont to ask a question or two, were better to ask it than in the build thread, if one thinks about it, a question is asked about the build 5 years from now, how did i do that, what did i say, what was my thinking, a reread brings it back and the question can be answered honestly as i know would to the best of your knowledge, so leave it open

sorry for not getting back sooner old friend,

not a thing if we are talking about the 5mt build, in fact a good idea.
This thread is about the big boat, and as i said the build is over , and at some stage the thread will be restored so it can be read from start to Finnish any question will follow the build and not interfere with that in any way.
now i think leaving the 5mt build locked is a good idea till it is complete then unlock it, all questions will have been asked in a new threads throughout the build by the members, it is the new member I am thinking about a year or to down the track that dose not know how you think, most will ask in the thread most appropriate to there question

I think all of Jumpy's build threads should be locked with a link or links at the end of them that point to any discussion threads.

Was quite pleased today the 1st of the wittle boats well nobody else exept me thinks they're wittle

Anyways it's looking good just wun last bit of flooring to weld in & I can flip her over to prep the hull for paint.

I ducked around to a mates shop this morn he's got a 5.1 quinny the wun I call DUCK FLUCKER visit was to jumpus into his goat to get a feel of the layout for wun I'm building then he came over to have a looky @ mine & his jaw dropped

3 days ago when he last visited goat was still raw & all of a sudden he see's the project nearly complted, we ran a tape measure over the goat 5.1 meters then there's the walk out so overall it's 5.3.

BUT it's a bloody big 5.3 meter& although his quinny is the same size there's no comparisment quintex have alot of wasted space used up by ridiculously wide gunnels I purposely kept them as narrow as possible to enable a wider consol to be fitted more a centre cab.

Haven't bothered with pics cause the site was down all that time but now that she's nearly complete I'll take a few tommorro & start from scratch on the 2nd goaty

5.3m is 5.3m Jumpus???? how about making them 5.4m?? Then it will be a bigger 5.3m

Now if the goat is 5.1 meters long & 40 mm tube come in 6 meter lengths split in 1/2 one length will do the entire boat with scrap left over

If you recall the other 2 lengths were 2B used for the T Tops

You've got buckleys chance if ewe think I'm gonna weld the 2 halves back together

ps] the splits came up trumps make my job alot easier when welding onto the goat, no gaps @ all where as using the elec hand saw it can stray a bit here & there
