Hey guys.....Am planning on a sunday fish from round midday. First will head out with the Wife and my kids on board for a while then the mrs and my little ladies will be going for a shop or something around Brighton Le Sands and The little fish catcher(my son Mason) and I will be back out for a few hours.....Anyone else planning on a sunday mission?

Jack if you're heading out sunday would really like to tag along and give it a run with you or if you or anyone else can point me in the direction of any good spots near the Georges entrance or Brighton areas I would be able to hopefully get a fish or two for my son-don't be suprised if I post a report with Mason(my son) out fishing me as he seems to do it every time we go fishing!

Cheers
Jason

Hi Jason,

weather permit, I'll have a go again sunday. But there is some rain forecasted so I'm not sure yet.

I got your number so if I'm out I'll give you a buzz.

Meantime..... in front of the sailing club along those beaches there is whiting and bream in the shallows as there is yabbies there on the banks.

Flathead I tend to catch drifting across the deeper bit in front of brighton le sands (get the map up from the NSW maritime and you'll see what I mean)
while there look at where the birds are. tailor pretty much guaranteed, catch one on a prawn or metal jig or sp or whatever and fillet it for bait.

I'm still getting to know the area but at the moment there seems tio be fish everywhere.

oh yeah, I use long shank hooks when tailor are around, I guess you'll figure out why :-)

yes jack forcast rain all week from sunday on wards so check before you guys go out cause the bay as calm as it looks can turn into a caos bay have jumps 7ft high on my jet ski when the bay turns on the weather side ..

Fingers crossed the weather holds out guys! I tend to use long shank hooks most of the time Jack as I find they suit the prawns, nippers and worms I use when using the light gear but thanks for the tip.....I have a map of the bay so will check out the spots you have recommended mate!

Catch, about a year ago was fishing in the worst weather possible on the bay in a mates boat, there was a good 3ft of swell hitting the 3rd runway and inbetween the torrential rain we actually caught some good trev's and bream, we headed out the following day as well and trolled between the headlands at the entrance to the bay in a good 3+m swell......I don't mind a bit of the rough stuff but with the Mrs and Kids on board will be staying a bit closer to shore and well within the bay! Mate only 7ft, you gotta hit those waves a bit harder, your ski must be good for at least 80kmph....Love the ski's(just not too fond of the noise) best thing bout them is you can go hard as you like and they only let go when you can't hold on any longer or if you bail out!

Man they should OUTLAW jetskis

They are way too much fun. Had a go on my neighbours ski and that thing really flies (goes up to 100km/h).
I want one but can not justify it for the missus as it is really not a family thing.

I don't get this. Just tell the people you are not there untill sunday afternoon
they can come and look after that. Chances are they won't even show up.

Tell her your going through a mid-life crisis and need it to re-establish your youth which may in turn increase your libido and love for her..... Gumballs.gif

That should get you one! biggrin.gif

Jack I raced em a for a few years...theres some crazy stuff some guys do to their ski's....1200cc GPR yammys stroked, carbied, carbon exhaust, special CDI's, special ride plates/intake grates/impellers etc, etc that are good for 150+ on rippled surface you can easily spend as much on go fast bits as you will pay for a new 12 or 1300, making a ski go faster and handle better is fun but does usually effect reliability in the long run-ski's hook-up better when theres a tiny bit of chop as opposed to a glassy water surface cause the intake doesn't pull the hull down as hard on a rippled surface.....bloody expensive hobby but safer than a motorbike and certainly much faster accelleration and can pull more g's than a bike could! Some mates up north use them for trolling for tuna and marlin, you could always tell the Missus its a cheap option as opposed to buying a 20+ ft boat for offshore use!

Simple. If she has a credit card then she will do shopping. If she has no credit card then she will do window shopping.

Either way if you went with her you will be stuffed.

I hate them, bloody aqua cows!!

Seems that all their riders have to show off and do all right next to you...

Get bored on em after 30 mins anyway...

Gimme a LAB and a 225 HPDI anyday!! Or even a Skua!
storms72
Fair call RUm....I only used mine on race day and once I got bored with that I sold the ski!

I'd be more than happy with a Southwind 770UB and a pair of 150 V-max's....they throw a great wake for skiing smile.gif
