Let me get this right you are going to design a plan to stick a tackle box under the seat.

This is going to be interesting to see the design.

Im going to sleep all day again, just like i did today!!

then, when i do get up, im going to aus post to collect my new abu 6500c3 reel which i got off ebay, NEW for $86 and will mount it on my JDG Special Snapper 6kg Rod and fill it with 260yd of 6kg Mono! Then Im going to annoy Jumpy Heaps when im up there to take me out and use it! ahah! Also still gotta pick up my 3kg stick off him that I won!
A pirate
i think most of us needs to pick something up from Jumpus place.

I have the thin Plano tackle boxes that sit under my bench in the boat, so what im looking to build is some sort of rack that allows them to slide in and out as needed.

I have a few of these....

I see what you are refering to. These are very good boxes. I have one in storage that I am not using.

I am using the smaller green one with the backpack when rock hopping. Keeps things dry.

i keep them in my fishing bag that way i know were to find them hysterical.gif hysterical.gif hysterical.gif

I have galvanized shelving and a plastic cupboard for the fishing tackle. I have a friend that has taken over a corner in his kitchen for his fishing tackle.

This is not including rods just odds and ends.

And you are telling us that you keep all you tackle in a one fishing bag.

Then you are not a fishing person. fish.gif

Most of my gear is in one bag, but I have some drawers in my spare room for extra gear..

I really only use a couple of differant hooks so i could proberbly go down to much smaller boxes, but then the day i decide i want somthing else ill be short, so im happy with what ive got. It works for me.
poly
ok ok i have 10 rods on the rack 9 reels and two bags full of gear
when going fishing decide on the fish to be targeted select the right gear for the job when pack the whole lot in case i change my mind. smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif
A pirate
since im just gettting back into fishing I have one mid game rod (with a new TLD reel), 2 bait casters ABU reels, and 4 cheap crappy river rods (need to get better ones atleast 2), 3 tackle boxes 1 bag (1 bag full of game lurers, 1 box for general lurer's 1 box for terminal gear and 1 box for squiggies) and that thats about it.

My tackle boxes live under the rear bench seat in my boat which move around a bit when motoring around esp when bouncing over waves, so what im thinking is building a section/rack that will hold them in place.
A pirate
ill be working on it tonight when the minister is away at work.
Christos
I think that this will be a good project do complete. You see a problem and you are going to build something to fix the problem.

This is what guys do.

And I know this for sure if you post a thread on this site you are going to get a lot of feedback from people having their say as to how to build this thing this way or that way.

Yes I will be one of those guys. peace.gif

i started this thread out of boredom and to just see if a silly thread would take off and as we can see it has, i am now hopping that we can see some photos of your boat with a bit of info about her please, A PIRATE

You might have been bored but it does not take much for us to come up with a topic of interest.

Our pirate has sparked the interest.

Well said Poly.......

I always take my 3 and 6kg Bait rods!!

Then I think, Umm Ill take my 5kg Spin rod so I can flick.... Then I think I better take my 3kg as well...

Then i think, better take a heavier rod for live bait, so i throw in the 10kg Baitrunner..... But what if there is somthing bigger around so in goes the 15kg and the Game rod and all of a suddne there is no room for me in the boat!

yes that could be dune, but i think after some thought i may have to lower my standards a bit and make an alloy bracket to mount it on, we will just have to wait and see what i can come up with. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
Spudly
hahaha, Seriously though... I find that people SERIOUSLY underestimate the effectivenes of some glues and double sided tapes these days..

Check out some of the 3M products Poly.. You may find you can mount a burley bucket on the boat without drilling or deforming the plastic bathtub!

Christos
Is it plastic?
A pirate
okies its been a while, Ive purchased the channel i need to complete the job (it has been the hardest bloody stuff to find) and it was not cheap (like i hoped) but anyway i found some yesterday after driving as far a Rockdale. Friday ill take a few pics and descriptions of the set up. Ill also make a list of mods to the oat since i bought it 11months ago.

Plans for the rack so far is room for 4x plano tackle boxes (pic in my last post) that will go across the rear thwart width ways up to (if lucky 2 deep). Im also planning to put maybe 2 under the front thwart to allow a 1st ad kit and fishing tools kit (scaler, knives etc)

Bilge pump plumbing is complete as well as the rod holder pics to come.
poly
sounds like u have every thing going in the wright direction, Pirate, cant wait to see the photos smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif
