Mate I'm like you and have lost touch with that sort of thing.
Most moulders have pre made casts of just about everything and there is really no need to kill a prize fish these days, unless the angler needs a feed.
What area is your mate ? and what sort and demensions is his prize ?.
I could ask around as I think there would be someone on Fishnet that would know.
I am pretty sure there would be someone local to your mate that could do it.
As I say no need for the exact fish to be kept.

Sir Reel
There is a fellow in Batemans Bay that can do them but I would say he should be able to find one closer. Jumpus he probably thought you could make it for him as your so tallented making rods etc. biggrin.gif

Ray Burton used to do them down @ orient Pt , & Trevor Knot was popular in Ulladula but have no idea if any of them still do it

Yep Yep

My mate got a hold of him & got a bit of a shock @ the cost the flatty was just over a meter long & @ $15 per inch worked out to be around the $600 mark.

So looks like he'll be eating the flathead & if he has any probs I'll just send Dave over to give him a hand hysterical.gif hysterical.gif

Should really be a fushing report but since I wasn't there & cant do it he fished Pt Hacking

The meter flathead + another that went 4 kg

And to top it off a 10 kg jewgong all caught on live pilchards

There is a better bloke than Fred in Ulladulla. His name is Tony Evans and has some great master molds as well. His colours on snapper are superb and if you go into McCallums in Nowra and see his 22kg Jew fish, 15kg Snapper and a 459kg Blue Marlin caught by a woman the moulds will blow you away. Fred is good but I believe Tony is better. If you want to know more PM me rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif He is cheaper to boot. He has a 30kg Sailfish there that is amazing . all his moulds in Mccallums are for sale.
