Well peeps said I was going to post pics of the stages of my next pattern bind.
Using the big 12 Megagoggle camera this time cause last time pics were out of focus & not worth posting.
Anyways thought I'd do an old favourite of mine
The EaglesAnd no poy they dont want a rug these aren't Bald Eagles
Anyways just getting started so not much to show yet moreso testing out the camera.
Now this will be a closed pattern so there's no need for an underbind you's will get what I'm on about as you see it progress
Starting Off

Yu Hu's !Can anybloody see the Chick yet or Yu's still trying to crack the Eggshell
See the chicks yet??? You're got to be kidding.
But so far it is a wrap, I assume it includes a weave? Be gentle I still learning rod building.
Are you going to sell the video or book? You need to put the Jumpy touch by including the smokes and V caps on the table as well.
How many hours do you think the pattern will take?
And yes camera takes bruddy good pitchers.

Has the sun gone down yet?
Just had a look for you.
YES and there is no moon.
That hydroponics set up you have must put out some light.
At this rate you should have it finished tonight.

Well guys the pics aren't getting any better now
Main reason being the metalic silver & gold thread & being night time because the sun has gone down I need the flash.
So hope you's have got some idea of what I've done next pic will be after the resin has been applied & in daylight whilst the sun is still up & It'l Do isn't showing us his Full Moon

At least I know you did them now I see the smokes and V caps. Could only be you, Jumpy.

OK peeps 1st coat had dried enough for me to take it outside & get a pic B4 Elton John started singing Dont Let The Sun Go Down on Jumpus
Anyways not real happy with it, been a decade or so since I did one of these eagles & would've liked the birds smaller as the blank does not have a big diameter saw this 3/4 of the way through but thought stuff it.
Just started another one see if I can get this one the way I want it.
By the way allthough more time consuming these sorts of patterns turn out nicer/neater if done in A Grade cotton this one was done in D Grade
I like. I will bring my nigger rod, beach rod and other beach rod over for some eagles and seagulls in the binding.

Poly, I worked it out. We need to kidnap the bugger and get him to show us that last step.
I understood up to the photo with the smokes and V caps. I cannot see where the bottom of the gold wing thread has gone in that photo.
Nice job. The red head looks like a shark about to eat the eagle.

I sort of get this from what I have read from a book on fishing. It does take some time to do a warp for someone that does not do many or any. I have yet to build a rod fron the beginning. I have repaired them and that was easy to do.

Thats why I stoped taking pics it was getting a bit hard to see what I had done easy for me to see.
It's all about closing the wrap, in other words every bit of the blank has been covered in cotton.
Notice @ the start how much red there was & how it's disappeared ???
Well it's still there just covered over by other colours

Ive seen it and it looks awesome! No Idea how ya would do it though.. I think experimentation would be required with some time and paitance, something I have very little of!!

Did a matching 6 kg rod with same eagg heads only smaller in size.
Prob a bit hard to see from the pics but the smaller sized birds look much better.
