Anyways he got me all whipped up & I was on my way down but the wind was blowing it's arse off for weeks so I didn't go.

Chucky spent some time down there with the boys who own the seafood place Andrew & Harry I think he said their names were they offered to take him outside to SP some Reds but when Dave heard OUTSIDE !

He did the Harold Holt & went to hide

The seas and swell have only just droped since then. The soft plastics are so good on them, just cast them out and wait for the reel to scream. I was using 9lb trace on a 6lb line. wahooooo

yea we did go outside as the seas had finally carmed down. We were in about 18mtrs of water. What happened at JB?

Tally at the end of the day was 3 Snapper, 2 Mowies, 1 leather Jacket & 1 Squid.

There were a lot of Short-finned Pilot Whales at least 50 of them launching out of the water. They all seemed to be heading South. They looked like a dark fat dolphin, moving very fast.

After that I refuse to take the little boat outside anymore.. Still goto the bay but launch from murreys or honeymoon now so i can get back in quicker..

Would love to come down there and pick up a few spots to fish down that way (Batemans).. Its been all guesswork so far and is the easiest place for me to get to for salt water fishing...

In responce to circle hooks in your previous post, they are for deep water and dont strike as you will pull the hook out every time, Just let the rod load up.

I've allways said a good boat is one the owner is happy with, we dont all have the same tastes.

And dont worry poly is as guilty as hell of throwing his Plastic Thingy in our faces every chance he gets so it cuts both ways

Couldn't of said it better myself. I always tell people how I enjoy my boat and that they should test run as many different boats as they can when buying, dont buy a boat because some so and so said its great but find out what suits your needs.

the thing that gets me going more than anything are people that close there minds to new ideas and technologies, for some one with skills like j.g's. working with metal it would be silly to buy a poly or a glass boat, but why not at least go for a ride in one.
i for one will never give up the chance to ride in some one else's boat, that way i can say i could live that make and model or not.

j.g i am not including u as such, i don't think u are a poly knocker, still a bit sceptical perhaps, but thats all.
one of the thing i have found over time is when a poly knocker comes out of the wood work they have no real knowledge of the boats and in one case the bloke had never seen one, but he still bagged the hell out of them "why"
