Agreed. Use a funnel to add water but make sure it has a tube to the bottom. Outlet with tap usually around 2/3 to 3/4 up. All components need to made of metal.
Really only used on base camps. I prefer a billy of boiling water added to cold water in a bucket and a cheap 12V shower. The cheap plastic solar showers are good in the warmer months. Keep it simple and you will have less gear to carry.
jasonb
yeah i think the kiss method is the best ,got enough gear now ,
Sir Reel
What about something like this as It'll do mentioned

Doesnt take up much room, cheap only .99 cents at the moment
Here is one on ebay
solar shower
jasonb
yeah ive seen these ,but wondered what they would be like ,to me they just look like a black plastic bag but i could be wrong
Sir Reel
There good for one person. The black attracts the heat to warm the water.
jasonb
if i can get 5 for 99 each then it wont be a loss if they dont work ,ahahahahh but there worth a try ,thanx mate
Sir Reel
or you could fill with warm billy water. With 5 of them you could have a nice long shower.
jasonb
haaaahhahhaa yeah true ,after i get them off the rest of me tribe ,,

They work well if put out before lunch on a hot day.
What are you guys on about, 20lts is heaps for my misses and myself. I use about 5 lts and she uses the rest.
How I use it:
Turn on and wet yourself (with the water silly)
Turn off and use your bar of soap
Turn on and wash off soap. Easy

How my misses uses it
Turn on, winge about the tempeture of the water, lather up with soap, wash off soap. Have your husband ready to give you more water. Finished. No need to turn off as all the water is gone.

As you can see I always go first. This is why I use the plastic bucket and cheap shower pump. Easy to keep topping up the water.
If there is a fire ban use someone elses 4WD shower system. laugh.gif laugh.gif
