I realise that many of you have alot more gear, but lets just say you couldnt have it all,
How many rigs do you need to carry as many aspects of fishing as possable, possibly using some rigs for more than one purpose? |

You could get away with 4 rods and six reels and probably do any type of fishing that you would wish for. I generally carry a 6to 10 kg stick , a 4 to6kg , a good graphite baitcaster, and a light 2 to 4kg spin rod, your 4 to 6 can have an option reel, for boat or trolling, as with the 6 to 10, and your lite rod can have a couple of spinning reel options. with a selection like this you coold fish anything from Yellowtail to Spanish Mackerel or Tuna, if you went after Sailfish or Broomhandles you might need something bigger, but I have a Diawa 15 or 20kg stick that hasn't been wet for years.

Hey Goldfish , I have a variety of Fillet, boning and hunting knives, or aSelection of firearms available, or you could use a rope. But I don't understand why anyone would think like that.

that sound's about right Sumo but i would add a beach outfit as well if there is room for it say a 6rap at 144inch with a 6inch alvey loaded with 8kg mono, have fun mate.

something like a good old SEAMARTIN will double as a deep bottom bouncer and make the perfect beachcaster.

I have a total of about 8 rigs, including plastics, boat, game, beach, fresh water
I think I generally take to many with me, and im trying to cut out how many I take with me on a particular trip. Ie, If going out in say, the shoalhaven.. How many rigs would you take? Ie, one for ficking light plastics or light baits (3kg) one for general duties, and slighly heavier incase something bigger is around? a heavy rod for running a live bait for that jewie that might be there? does this sound about right? Chad, try using your smaller rods for bottom fishing they are a lot more responsive.

I think its time to simplify It all, take less rigs out and concentrate on a particular fish or style..
Generally mi stuffing around with to much gear and tht probably not helping Its taken me a while but maybe im onto somthing?!?

What size hook do yuo use on a goldfish???

My Plan this weekend is to take 4 rods
btr45000 to deploy a livey 6kg and 3kg for plastics or lightly weighted floating baits (one for outside and one for in the river) 5kg with 2 droppers for draggin the bottom while i work the other bait or plastic. Will setup mullet trap and get some potties and use squid and prawns for bait. have chicken pellets and tuna oil for burley. Tide change is right on lunch.. This sound ok for a plan, let me know what you think..... |
