I have been asked how close tto marine park are we fishing when
fishing the middle ground? Without going to a gps or a map I would say I would have to be at least 2klms from nearest marine park boundary. We are a lot closer when we fish outside bowen.island, there is a thin strip of marine park just outside running from mainland to island/. The closest to middle ground is just inside longnose point. Im not very good with computers but Chad or Jumpy might be able to post a map showing middle ground. |

Well ill prob get told im wrong as usual.... but this is what id call middle ground, in the pic you can see 2 areas where there are distinctive reefs, and are easily picked up on a sounder as the depth changes drastically... bout 10m rise in the floor from around 30m to 20m...

Nowhere near any marine zones if you're fishing the middle grounds
