Here we go again, just got my boat insurance in and it's getting out of hand as far as I'm concerned.
A couple of questions?

Who insures their boat & who doesn't.
Approx value of BMT rig and cost of insurance premium?
Why don't insurance companies offer third party property damage only?
What about third party personal for boats (ie like green slips for cars)?

Reading the fine print.... COP THIS!

What you are not covered for -Legal Liability.
Loss or damage to third party property arising from the trailer being towed by or breaking away from or accidentally becoming detached from the towing vehicle.

That is just one of a big stack of let off clauses in the fine print.

I'm right on the edge of telling them to stick it up their arses.

Compared to dealing with these sharks running the risk is looking better & better all the time.

Come on guys, speak up and let's hear what you think.

For what it's worth guys here's the breakup of mine.

Hull $6,000
Motor $3,000
Trailer $3,000

Total $12,000

Premium $302
Stamp Duty $30
GST $30
broker Fee $50
B/Fee GST $5

Total $417

The big problem is that they have you by the balls with public liability, run over a jetskier and you could be paying for it for the rest of your life.
Running over a jetskier is high on my list of priorities along with taking off someone's car door who opens it as I'm driving past them.
That's one thing I'm determined to do before I die.
