Ladies [U2 Gumballs] and Jellybeans
Spent the weekend being a lounge lizzard after last week & since all ewe's had to go do worky's 2day I decided to go wet a line, early start for me hit water just b4 lunch in a bid to catch the tide turn @ 1.30 pm Was a day if Fed were with me & he had HAIR he would've been pulling it out Kept losing fish in an odd way mainline kept popping nothing wrong with drag setting & quite a few times it popped between the guides only had the 2 bait rods with me + 2 spin sticks. Ended up backing the drags off a bit more just to stay out there & will replace line b4 next trip out unfortunately there were Kungs about & with the backed off drag they smoked me every time. Plenty of snapper about but 80% were just under & the wuns that were legal ranged from 32 - 35 cm's to boot most of the legals were taken on Plastics Did hook wun wee wittle wittl Fulla prob only 15 cm's long didn't know how small till I got it into the boat but on the way in drag was leaving the reel velly quickly thought I had a good fish which started of lazily but no no no It got slamed on the way in & judging from the piece missing just B4 the tail velly GooDarus guess was Bonito, anyways small chunk missing & wittle fishy swam away when thrown back Salmon were a pain in the butt generally good fun but not when you're targeting a different species they ranged from 60 cm's upwards Another species that got in the way was Bonito had wun on Plastics & the bait rod goes off Blurters were also about luckily not in big no's none the less still nailed around 10 of them Tide had turned & had allready started running ing about an hr or so by now it was around 4 pm & time to get down to sum serious Brimski fushing those who've been out with me know nothing of where or how I fish for them even though I only re-anchored 50 meters away. Many Many moons ago we also used to nail sum monster snapper here average size 3 - 5 kg & biggest went 8.6 kg haven't seen them here since they built the 3rd runway nearly 19 years ago now. Anyways this spot you're in only 5 meters of water & it's really only a wun rod per person spot if you want to succeed, didn't trust the line on my bait rods cause now I was in the land of the monster Brimski's so I put them away. Grabebed me 3 kg LOX spin rod tied on around 2 meters of 10 lb fluro carbon leader & a hook, no lead here tis floaters all the way up to 70 meters behind the boat. Wot a great wittle session made all the more fun with the super sensitive rod started off with a few small brimski's nothing under 35 cm's then the Blue Nose rocked up this was the 1st coming in @ 42 cm's but a real fat wun put it on the digital lip gripper & it weighed 1.47 kg Quick looky in the live bait tank & I had more than enough wittle fishy's so this fulla went swimmy's to fight another day ps] dont let the live bait tank fool ewes this is just the opening lid portion the tank is over twice the size of wot ewes see After that it got really hot most bait getting nailed only 30 meters behind the boat the burly was working a treat, didn't bother or had no time for the camera cause I wanted next bait back in the water as soon as possible so as not to lose the school another 4 of those Blue Nose got released & a good guess 46 cm's was the biggest -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

JUMPY
FED had that 'popping' thing with his line yesterday ... almost like something was "eating" the line! AND that was before he even got it in the water ... No report ...t'wasn't a good fishing day for us ... everything went back ... Very nice warm comfortable day on the water though ... that is until the breeze picked up! JOB WELL DONE FOR YOU! |

Yeah Jumpy, I popped my line more than 10 times while tying on rings & hooks etc.
Now that was with 2 different lines and 3 different bits of tackle, I don't know WTF was happening. The only common factor was my spit, SUPER SPIT! HaHaha! -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

QUOTE Now that was with 2 different lines and 3 different bits of tackle, I don't know WTF was happening. Ha Ha Ha ! That sheds a bit of light, thought the old man had done something stupid & sprayed chemicals on my gear After reading ewe had same prob I'll let him off the hook Did notice sounder showing an above average amount of activity but peckers were not pinching the baits @ times they were wall to wall GooDarus guess is that activity was hitting the line & causing it to pop -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

All of my problems happened before I'd even wet a line, there was no way I could tie anything on without the line breaking as I pulled the knot tight.... too much SUPER SPIT!
I even grabbed the line between my hands and it broke like cotton and that was 4Kg ANDE line, freaking weird. I've been tying knots for nearly 50 years and never had a problem like this. -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |
