Well on Friday I start the big trip, well big for me anyway.
I will first be going to Hervey bay, where I will meet up with a few more mates and fish the local creeks, bays and probably head over to Frazer Island for a look see, will be in the area for 4-5 days, then head for Awoonga. I will be at Awoonga for 7 days where the boys tell me I will be in with a good chance of landing myself a metre plus Barra. The water has risen somewhat over the last couple of months, and the locals are saying the big fish are feding. After 7 days I will probable be all fished out with these guys, and hope to get amongst some Mangrove Jack and some Saratoga while I am up that way. Then it's back to Hervey Bay again for another 4 or five days. Will be gone for 3 weeks all toll and hope to get as much fishing done as possible in those three weeks. -------------------- Frank

Have a great time Frank. Make hay while the sun shines. Hope you catch fish, and don't overdo it with your health.

Got a funny feeling Bunyip Man painted it Orange Think the bunyip man would be a little higher then I am going, unless he was on his way down the coast again. Orange would be OK but would not be as well disguised. Not long now and I will be warm and bringing in some biguns. -------------------- Frank

I got invited to Lake Awoonga in October Frank.
Im still tossing whether i can go, with work and all. Ive only heard good things about it, seen some good pics of Barra there aswell. Aparantly theyre a pest in there and they dont want you releasing them when caught. Cant wait to hear how you went, may be the clincher for me to go.... Good luck and take care. |

Chop Chop just got back from their salty.
They got some very nice Barra But they had a guide one of the local charter boats. Think to many peeps go on these trips & fail to factor in local knowledge. -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

I was supposed to go last year, and the year before that. Due to bad health and work commitments, I didn't get there. Last year the boys didn't do real well but the year before they got heaps a beauties, they are telling me that with the water rising the big ones are on the chew. The guys I am going with are not strangers to the area and I do believe I am in good hands. If I don't score well It won't be for lack of trying. I am also looking forward to some other species combat as well as the Barra. I have never really been a Barra freak, but when in rome. -------------------- Frank

I bought a new 8 mp olympus camera and got a 2 gig card for it so I will be seeing how many shots this 2 gig card holds, they say 500 odd, don't worry I won't be flooding the site with 500 photos, but hope to get some good one to skite about. See you all in 3 weeks. -------------------- Frank
