A MAN is dead after a boat capsized off the NSW far south coast.

Four people were on board the vessel when it capsized 15km east of Bermagui about 3.40pm (AEST) today.

Emergency services rescued from the water three people from the water, who were taken to Bega hospital with mild hypothermia.

A fourth man pulled from the water could not be revived.

The group was believed to be from Sydney, police said.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.

hard to find any info in this tragic event.

Boats and boating are going through a bad patch at the moment, in the media for all the wrong reasons.

I hope no-one here is close to those involved in this accident and thoughts go out to the families and friends effected by this!

kk rang me late this arvo & told me, only because I mentioned that I may have been going down & boy I'm glad I didn't.

Just got off the ph to Alex who's down there @ present, I was invited down to have a fish with the boys but Jumpus aint sirry laugh.gif

OK just to fill you's in not much news but better than what's been posted or on the news.

Boat that went down was a Carrabean 23ft glass boat nobody I know reason I say that is because I know a few who made the trip down to fush the comp.

The boat wasn't fushing the tournament just down for the weekend, because of the comp all boats were on a different frequency to the boat that went down so no-one heard it's Mayday including Coastal Patrol who I've been told weren't manning their radio so missed the calls.

Dont think it would've matted cause the sea's were up around 3 meters with wind speed up around 30 knots with gusts to 36 knots.

The 3 survivors were vey lucky that a 52 ft Game boat saw them waving else ?????

Well you figure it out

gday all as jumpy says it was a 23 carrabian from sydney that went down unfortunatly due to our own tournament radio station no one heard a mayday the other terrable thing is that in that area there would have been 10 - 20 boats that could have responded including myself !!!

when it was found out that a boat had gone down boats that had not been taken out of the water risked going back out to try to find the last person but he was already deceased....

a sad day down here remeber conditions can change from bad to deadly within seconds !!

Yep Yep conditions can change that quick it aint funny.

Now you's all know why Jumpus allways puts crap on small boat owners wanting to take the vessels out wide.

Old Jumpus saying goes !

Any Fool can get out there
It's getting home you need to worry about
