Heading to wyangala tomorrow...

We start off at 8am picking up the set yabbie traps and some worms and making our way past cowra to replace the prop which snapped last trip on my friends boat. After a few hard wakeboarding sessions, we shall retire to the banks and throw in a few bait lines and ill do some spinning with my recently picked up (tomorrow) lures and spinners etc!

My first cast catches nothing but the second cast i get a hit.....

the third cast it grabs and I set the hook, 3kg braid is screaming of my reel as the hooks are twisted under the mighty codasurus strong grip.....
after a good 30 seconds, the reel is empty and the braid snaps with a loud bang, not to dissimilar to that of a stockwhip!

time to bring out the heavier gear....

6kg this time and after 3 measly 3kg Yella Gutted goldfish, I feel the power of the codasarus again... This time ive got some ammo for him...
As he dives beneath the hidden snag in the hole, i put some pressure on him, but he is strong, very strong, the grahite is starting to creak,
or maybe its the joints in my wrist ;) but something is pulling....

I manage to pull him away from the snag and the fight is on... next thing he breaks the surface and in a marlin like jump he tosses the stump jumper from side to side, I hold pressure on him so he cant throw the hook....

After a hefty fight i manage to tag and release him, he was a XXXlb specimen and as soon as i get home Ill post some pics to show you all!

have a good weekend guys and wish me some luck!!!

Well Well Well....

I have arrived home..... Things didnt work out exactly as planned for the weekend....

Firstly, the boat packed in after around 20 mins, so I didnt get my wakeboard.... :( Carby problems i beleive!

The fishing Did go ok though, and the drinking was GREAT!!!!

We threw a few lines in, using tiger worms and some yabbies (I use peeled tails) The first catch was michelle, a freinds girlfriend, who pulled in a carp.. The rig she was using is called a "who knows" It was a ball sinker tyed to the end of the line with a hook just granny knotted a foot up from the sinker, with no trace....

She then managed to pull in the first of the perch... And another!!! I was getting worried... All my expensive gear and good knots and rig and she was doing it on a rod that had 2 guides with the plastic missing from the metal frame!!!!

Finally my chance came!!! Another little perch... Thats 3 in tatal, but stupid me, leaving my books at home couldnt remember the size limits so they were all released to fight another day!

Sat night, we setup camp, which was pretty good if you ask me, and many a rums and a bottle of tequila kept thing interesting!!!

On Sun morning i managed to check with a bloke the size for the perch and thought BUGGER IT!! they could have been dinner!!!!!!!

All is good though as I managed to pull a few more in before lunch and heading home! Not a bad little overnighter and looking forward to doing the same trip again, with my dads boat next time to do a bit of trolling and get to some better spots..

Water in the dam is around 15% and looks VERY VERY LOW but there is pleanty for boats as 20 odd ski boats were hooning around and a few fisho's..

hahaha, very very funny.........

When i was at the dam in april it was at 6%, 1 week later the dam was closed to ski boats, due to dangerous low levels and unknown snags in the water.

It would be nice to see it full again, its a funny dam though, it can fill very quickly with the right rain...

Did she put up much of a fight on the rod (no pun intended there ) boxing.gif , if not i be she did when it came time to chuck her on the scales . laugh.gif

& i assume she was a mermaid/keeper , cause you said your mate made her his girlfriend .

BTW her rig up sounds exactly like the way ' Mr Bundy does things ' , then he catches them hook line and sinker . rolleyes.gif

Nice fush & a good yarn biggrin.gif
