Well had my Third trip down the coast, am absolutely loving having my own place there again. Not having to tow the boat, no cabins or camping, no one else to have to worry about or please!!!

Took a mate from work, Scotty to Hotty as he is known in some circles, who was rather excited to be heading down.

We fished the first day on Jervis bay after he woke me up at 5am after about 3 hours sleep, scotty was like a kid at Christmas! after getting all the gear sorted and boat fuelled we were on the water at woolamia at about 9am.

We ran straight out to the squid grounds and boated about a dozen squid. Setting the larger ones aside to keep for a feed and the smaller ones for baits (they all eventually ended up bait or dog food after Xena the food warrior pinched some while cleaning up). We then headed out to the cliffs to troll a few squid for kings but nothing showed up on the sounder or the baits so after a while we decided they wernt hungry and we would go and look for some reds.

Once we sounded out some suitable looking ground and a few splotches on the sounder, though nothing really inspiring, but decided to plonk a bait down and see what happened.. A few fish between 1kg and 2 kg were landed and finally the Lox JigSpin loaded up and the screaming drag of the thunnus 4000 that we were after came. After a 5 min or so fight and without seeing any colour it was over, pulled the hooks... Not long later another screaming run but this one was gone before I could grab the rod.

Even though we had a nice feed in the esky already of reds and squid I was hurting from the dropped fish.. then it happened again, this time though the battle was won and a nice Snapper, around 3.5 to 4kg and 66cm was in the net... It really finished off a nice day!

That night a surf and turf at the local pub washed down with a few rums put scotty to sleep on the lounge.... But he was still up at 5am again waking me up to go out again.

Launched at Murrays this time, shit of a ramp at low tide!! unfortunately the Nor easter that was forcast for the afternoon came in early so we hid from the blow up along the cliffs near the inner tubes... Even lost my Lox hat when the Navy Chopper done a fly by to warn up that the range was active... Only thing we could get in the burley trail were the rubbish fish so no good news and we called it a day b4 lunch and headed into Nowra.

Once home, Scotty again got the bug, so at 5pm we launched and headed out into the basin for a night fish. With the nor easter still blowing, we tucked into a little bay ive previously had some success in. Over the next few hours we boated some nice bream, small snapper and flatties and lost a tailor who bit through my 6lb leader.. We were off the water about midnight..

The last day, we again hit the basin, hoping to find some more flatties, with no wind and a non existent drift things were very slow. called it a day early as we had to clean boat and get ready to head home! another surf and turf, a few bundies and games of pool with some locals finished the trip nicely and cant wait to get back and do it again!

Didn't pick the camera up a lot, but here are a few off my phone, some more on the big camera when I download them..

Well done young fellah! a bit of success each time you wet the boat is good news.
