Only thing I can think of is your book marked link if you're still using the one from back when we 1st got started then that may be the reason I use this one & have no probs @ all

Same with no problems and I use Mozilla and Ie to check the site.

But someone asked about fonts etc not to long ago, and I have just got hold of a mod that will allow the user to select the font etc and size . I will be installing but not for a bit as I,m a bit tied up at present with family problems.

Still a problem using the new link supplied, I open the site to an old page then have to force a refresh to make it current.
It's the only site that I've ever found that does this.

Ok have you cleaned your cookies of late as this site runs it's login by cookies and if you have the old cookies that would be the problem.
Suggest using a simply progam like Ashampoo winoptimer and it will fix all the registry and clen up all the others . if You need a copy just yell and i will up load a legal version for you.

I use ccleaner for cache & cookies, sure it works but after opening this site once the next time I open the site it displays an out of date page.
It's no big deal for me but it could be affecting other people who think there have been no new posts since their last visit.
Need less to say everything is up to date after I log in.

Delete the cookies manually dont rely on crappy progs like Ashampoo to do it for you

I wash my dogs with Ashampoo

If you're gonna do something then do it right I like to see what gets deleted not rely on crappy progs which may have done done 1/2 the job.

Windows carries a set of hidden folders & there's a good chance ccleaner or whatever prog you use only does 1/2 a job

open

> folder options
> view
click > show hidden files & folders
> apply
> ok

Once you've done that go to

> My Computer
> Local Disk C
> Documents and Settings
> Administrator
> Local Settings ( this is a hidden folder & you'll notice it's a lighter colour than the rest]
> Temporary Internet Files

Delete contents of this folder
Then go to your recycle bin & empty it as well else the files are still on your HDD & that could be what the prob is

After doing this you'll notice that your cookie folder even though you never opened it is as clean as a whistle

I'm not familiar with ashampoo but I'm sure it's a good program if Ozman likes it.
Ccleaner is far from being crappy in fact it's extremely fast & effecient.

You should really test programs before making comments like this.

Files can be deleted from a hidden directory, being hidden makes no difference at all.
In fact it can be done from within IE >Tools>Internet Options>General>Temp Internet Files

open

> view

Your OS or Browser will NEVER access the Recycle Bin and if you remove your Temporary Internet Files as they were designed to be removed then they never even make it to the Recycle Bin.

After doing this you'll notice that your cookie folder even though you never opened it is as clean as a whistle

Cookies have absolutely nothing to do with this, it's all about the browser cache settings.

My browser was set to check for newer versions of stored pages automatically but I have reset it to check on every visit to the page.

The reason I changed the setting is because the Automatically setting, this is the default. It's actually the same as "Every time you start IE" but if a page is rarely updated, IE doesn't check every time.
I guess I don't access sites that have little activity on them, I was unaware of IE working behind the scenes to speed up site access at the expense of being shown from cache even when the site has been updated.
I'd think the only way it could do this would be by counting how many times there has been no update and when a predetermined number has been reached it would then only check for updates every 'x' visits.
It probably became obvious to me because I check this site very often but don't necessarily log in or force a refresh every time. Of course the times I did force a refresh & got a 'new' screen is what led me to post this thread for Ozman.

BTW, cookies are tidbits of information that a website can leave on your computer so that the next time you visit a page your computer can be identified.
You will notice when visiting sites you will often get welcomed back by name or as this site does they will tell you the last time you were here.
Cookies are basically harmless unless you're paranoid because they can be used to track your browsing habits.

An answer was given to your original Q which I thought was fair your cookies control what you see on a site & what you're last senario says still dosen't make any sense.

Yes it can recall an old page but if anything is added to it then it will also come up

Think you are missing the point which is unless your browser had capabilities of storing entire web pages & IE does not

Then any additional info on that page will appear when next you open it irrelevant if you've got your setting to show old pages

Your browser is a tool to open pages it does not store info

The site you are visiting dictates what you see on your screen & if you dont believe me try this

Shut your modem down go through browser options & bring up a visited web page to view off line then come back & tell me I'm wrong

It all makes perfect sense to me and I admit there is one small part in it that I was previously unaware of.
(The difference between 'Auto' and 'Every Visit'.)

That's an ok tweak but , the big problem is IE6 and 7 both are rubbish IE5.5 was the best of the IE group, I switched to Firefox but still use IE as a checking point as like you some people still use it so I have to make adjustments to the site to allow for them. I have mine set to auto.
