How's your bait situation ?
I used to go to my favorite bait bar and ask to see the prawns of the day. The attendant would put about 1/2 kilo of prawns on the counter for me to choose from. ( We would only do this when the shop was full ). I would then pick a prawn up and look it all over carefully and place it aside then choose another. I would carefully choose 2 prawns and the attendant would put the rest back and wrap my 2 prawns up for me in butchers paper, and I would walk out of the shop with my 2 prawns. Without missing a beat, someone in the shop would go up to the attendant and ask him " what was that bloke all about " and he would explain to him. That guy comes in here every saturday morning and chooses 2 prawns to use as bait, with those prawns he would use the heads and legs as berly and chop the 2 prawns up in tiny pieces and would catch live slimies with these tiny pieces, he would get about a dozen slimies and then go to a favoured spot and catch huge kingfish and yellowfin tuna and would end up with about 200 kilo of fish he would then trade for fishing gear and such. Used to get an audience for the shop and give some blokes something to think about. -------------------- Frank

Wouldn't be the first time I've been fishing with nothing but an old bait left on the hook from last time out.
