I am going to be busy in my shed for a while.
I finally got my old T I G welder fixed, I have had it for a number of years but could only weld really thick Stainless steel with it as the switch I bought was faulty. It cost me $200 but I got a bloke to come in and have a look at the machine. Turns out the switch had bridges in it that confused the wiring and the guy spent 2 hours re wiring it and testing the machine. Now that I have finally got a tig that should be able to weld plate stainless I can start making a few things. Mind you I need plenty of practice before I will be able to tackle anything tricky. I have plenty of sheet Stainless steel as well as Alloy sheets so I am going to start off by making a few letter boxes. As I get better at welding with T I G I will progress onto making some consoles etc and perhaps rod holders rocket launchers etc. Just thought I would put this on here to maybe get some interest. -------------------- Frank

I'll be watching with interest Frank, I've never done any TIG welding at all so lead us though it as if we know nothing. A few pics too eh?

You can pick Fed's brain about anything to do with welding. Should only take you a second or two, Frank.

I have been to crook to get about much but that's improved greatly thank god, how ever I am spending more and more time out in the man cave doing stuff, so a thread like this will help the members to show case the projects we are working on. Leave me out of this idea Ozman I think we have too many forums already.
15 forums plus the 5 headings in recent topics on the front page, we've got more forums than active members. Prune prune prune! -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

Prune prune prune! yes Fed i can see were you are coming from, and what you say is true but as we get older things change and owe interest's change, i cant fish as much as I would like so i fined my self spending more and more time out in the shed. this may sound a bit silly but I spent a day sharpening a set of chisels for a chap that lives down the road, ok that's not ground shaking stuff , it was enjoyable I must say. at the moment Sumo is fitting out a camper van and it would be good to see how its going. Ozman how about calling it [the mancave] Paul -------------------- bugger it's sold, got meself a house instead
