My internet was running a bit slow so I complained to my ISP, ran all the tests and they said they would fix it.
About 3 weeks later they connected the turbo & hit the nitro button. Before & after shots, the only trouble is now it's showing up my crappy computer. speedtest1.jpg ( 14.03K ) Number of downloads: 29 speedtest2.jpg ( 14.65K ) Number of downloads: 27 -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

Bloody computers, now I think my onboard video is dying.
How it should look compared to how it shows on my computer. Anyone else had a black box problem like this? boxes4.jpg ( 124.94K ) Number of downloads: 12 boxes.jpg ( 103.01K ) Number of downloads: 11 -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

That looks like a resolution problem , rather than a graphics problems.
either way a simple adjustment to the bios and a vc card will fix that if its graphic. all you need to know is what slots are availbale pci , pci-e and get a card . if it a old pci one let me know I have about 50 secondhand one here somewhere , if its a pci-e cost about $50.00 for a fair 1gb card. -------------------- |

Got to the stage where it has to be a hardware problem because I've ruled everything else out. (I hope LOL) -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

I don't want to be a pain Ozman but it would be nice to try out an old one for a test.
I hate chucking parts at things but I'm running out of options. Then there's the logistics, stick the dirtiest old card you've got in an envelope and see what happens? It all sounds like a big hassle to me and there's still this little guy in the back of my head saying it's not a problem with the on board video... little bastard won't shut up. QUOTE 1 x PCI Express x16 slot 1 x PCI Express x1 slot 2 x PCI slots You got anything thing that will plug in to any one of those slots and have driver support for XP? Been over 20 Years since I've had a computer that didn't have a special dedicated video card slot, should an old card plug in & work on a vanilla PCI slot? I checked the Gigabyte website & they reckon the the bios automatically detects a plugged in video card and disables the on board video accordingly. The next project is installing cyanogenmod on an old Samsung S1 smartphone, you ever played with that stuff? -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

This is getting weirder & weirder, re post #7.
Now it's fixed itself, maybe a Chrome update? I Googled the problem to death and couldn't find any current references to it, buggered if I know. Pretty hard to believe my computer is the only one on the planet that had a problem. -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |
