After a few days on the water playing with the new boat and the new sounder ive got a couple of quick questions for yas...

1. Sounder loses signal when underway... The transducer is mounted on an adjustable bracket so I will have a go at a few differant positions, I figure that its not in clean water when underway...

2. Have not seen ANY fish on it yet? Now either there were no fish or its setup incorrectly.. I have had a read of the manual and a play with some setting but any advice.. The gain adjustment did not make much difference to the ground structure, but nothing shows in mid water.. Maybe there was nothing though i figure in the 5 days we used the oat that we should have seen something??

Yea, thought i put that in but have left it out...

http://www.navmanmarine.net/Navman/Templat...on.aspx?id=4631

Its a Navman trackfish 6500, Chartplotter and Sounder. Seems like a half decent unit, Has the GPS Antenna installed on the front deck of the boat and 50/200hz transducer..

Frank has kindly offered me a map card so will have some charts to follow instead of a blank white screen. Looking forward to trying that out when i get back down there.

The other issue im having with the unit is one of the plug in the back is slightly loose so i lose my temperature at times and have to ive it a wiggle. not sure if these can be replaced.. there is an optional through floor transducer which might be the go? It is a 1kv unit..

If you're losing temp then you'll lose reading on bottom it's the same plug

Dam post keep disapearing

The only thing dropping out is the temp, it mus just be one pin is not holding but the rest are ok.. the little lock tab doesnt hold tight but it doesnt fall out and I dont lose the bottom at all, just the temp..

Have tried cleaning and closing up all the female pins but still have to give it a wiggle every now and then to get it back.. tongue.gif

Get a full boat & you wont have any probs laugh.gif laugh.gif

pins can & do work loose in plugs even though plug is moulded

With male plugs you can get a pair of tweasers [you'll be right in that departments ] laugh.gif

lightly with use of tweasers try moving the pins in/out & see if there's a loose wun

Front left lower corner 5mm below the hull, trailing edge 5mm below the leading edge and no strakes in front of the tranny.
Talk to your plug & socket.
