Mr OZ , I am pretty well fed up with my old Dell demention3000, it's getting harder and harder to even start the thing running let alone do anything useful with it.

I was wondering what you have available, just need the PC unit as my monitor is still working perfectly.

Naturally I want a you beaut super fast computer with heaps of special features that I wouldn't understand with heaps of ram and duel/quad whatever the hell them things are that the comp shops talk about, and I want it for a very low budget price.

All jokes aside, what do you have on offer, I don't want to spend more than $500 as If it's gonna cost more than that I will give the computer world a miss and just won't bother with them.

the 3 above are ones I buy in pre made and would sell to you at cost they are all Ariel brand , and are not a bad unit for the price plus are assembled here in Australia the only thing i don't like is windows 8 but its the way of the future.

or I can build you up a system.
case $80.00 can get cheaper ones if you like but this would be a gigabyte unit with 420w psu.
mb asus 1155 $80.00
hdd 1tb wdc $90.00
ram 8gb $80.00
cpu ? G series $100.00 I would need to use this series to keep price in range.
km $30.00
dvd-rm $40.00
labour free
now that is let say $500.00
but has no os to it do you have a os to install on it.

If you like to talk just pm me your number or ask jumpy for mine also I do have a couple of unit that I,m refurbishing
a e6500 2.93 dual core system and a hp system which I haven't even look at at present but seems interesting as it is a dual dvi media system. these I could do for around $300.00 depending on the parts I will have to use if any. The main they will have is a fully licensed refurbished ms 7 professional as I,m now certified by MS.

Do a clean install of your operating system Frank, your computer will be like a born again virgin.
Jumpy has to do it every week when he screws his up.

Nearly forgot, don't get a new keyboard or Win8 if you're using XP, you will think you've got oldtimers disease.

OZ can I have the option 3 please.
Intel Dual-Core i3 3220 3.3GHz / 4GB DDR3 RAM / 500GB HDD / DVI / D-SUB / DVD Burner / Card Reader / Windows 8 64-bit / .
But could you install 8 gig of ram ? and I will pay the extra.
Will I be able to download movies with this machine as that is what I will probably start doing with a new machine.
As it is all I do is the few forum sites and ebay with the occasional you tube clip download and a bit of shopping for Val.
With my old age creeping up on me very rapidly I feel it would be good to have a few movies to watch, and I'm not one for video hire.
And when can I pick it up ? Monday or anytime after would suit me.

Fed never seen OR even heard of windows 8 before, but if it's the next generation thing, I'm sure I will get to work out how to use it.
As for alsimers setting in, think it's a bit late to start worrying about that.
Have you used 8 ?
And yes at this stage I am using windows xp.

Might do a purge of this poor old thing, and if it comes good I have someone I can pass it down to that it would be an update for them.

I haven't used Win8 Frank but I work on the theory any change is a bad thing when you get old.

Windows 8 is a pain and is really only been designed for touch screen units I think , my prefence is windows 7 pro or ultimate.
Windows xp is still great but will be totally out fazed by the end of year and if your doing internet banking etc you will no longer be able to connect to most banks , due to encryptions.

by doing a few changes I can do this if you like.
Case 40
hdd 500gb 70
mb asus 1155 90
ram 4gb 50
cpu g series 3.0ghz 100
cd-rw 20
refurh os system 90
labour 0
$460

what it would be is a aywun case and a smsller hdd and less ram , but what I can do is give you the windows 7 pro in it.

OZ. I will leave it in your hands mate and take aboard any advise you are willing to give me.
I just want a fast computer that I can do downloads and things on and possibly play some car racing games on now and again.
I don't want a system where I have to do study to be able to use, OR add this and add that to be able to do most computer based things.
Yes I do internet banking and buy/pay most things with pay pal so want to be able to continue doing that.
I have $500 to spend on a new computer, so put together the best fastest system you can for them dollars and I will trust your knowledge and buy it from you.

lol ok Jumpy, Frank I just had a look at Samsung site and maybe you will need a driver for that monitor of yours and that will allow you to adjust to your requirements . Just tell me the model if you like and I will find the right driver. Hope your having fun on the new system.

Really?
So the banks are going to discard most of their internet customers?
Will up to date Linux/Firefox work?
