Just got back from a couple of weeks fishing at Tuncurry, in the kayak. Went out most mornings for a couple of hours and caught heaps of fish, mostly flathead but also some good sized bream, Longtom and Giant Herring on soft plastics. I reckon I released well in excess of 50 lizards and kept around 20 for dinners and bringing home.
Lost 5 big mummas right beside the yak, as they bit through the 8lb leader after engulfing the large Zerek Live Prawn lures. Hope they were able to get rid of them. One old girl would have been better than 1m long and towed me around the shallows for a while. She wouldn't have fitted in the net and was marked for release at any rate. Saw some very big flatties sitting on the bottom in about a metre of water, which was crystal clear. Saw a school of Rays doing whatever they were doing, one mornig. About 50 or so fish in that ball, I reckon. Also went out on the rocks yesterday, for my usual session on niggers. Got my bag limit in less than 2 hours, while my mate got 6. Great times - great fishing. This post has been edited by kkw: Nov 17 2017, 12:16 AM

That's what I call a successful trip. Good to see you getting among a good feed of something other than those
red throat niggers that you are so good a catching, although I see you had to include some of those as well. Really good to see some fishi photos on the site, wish there were more. Boy when those rays have an orgy they really have an orgy. This post has been edited by nimrod: Nov 17 2017, 12:36 AM -------------------- Frank

Great to See Klaus, I would have loved to have been there with you, it seems like you had a great time fishing in the lake, it's good to see that someone
is out catching fish and you seem to be doing a good job of it. -------------------- I WANNA GO: FISHIN WITH SUMO.
