Need new tyres on my Hilux.

I wana bounce around some ideas from others.

On my old Hilux i had BF GOODRICH ALL TERRAINS.
I found them great cause i do abit of off road, and they were still good on the road.

When i bought my new Hilux they came with BFG MUD TERRAINS.
I hate these things and i couldnt wait for them to go bald.

I was thinking of getting the ALL TERRIANS but the guy at the tyre place told me to take a looky at the COOPERS alternative to the ALL TERRAINS.

He told me they have a thicker side wall and are cheaper.

Years ago i never considered the COOPERS cause they were limited to where you could buy them, but now most stockists have them.

Thats the gist of it fellas, tell me what you know.

RUM, you should have a few ideas for me..........

I sure do mate!!

DON'T TOUCH THE COOPERS!!!!!

When we sold them we had nothing but problems, everyone i know who has had them has had nothing but problems!! Just keep away from em...

BFG's used to be the best Tyre, but shipped their manufacturing over to malaysia? and the quality went down hill, mind you, if your after a tyre to drive around the city that can still handle some rpugh stuff the BFG AT's are hard to go past...

Personally the last few years ive been running Mickey Thompsons (the MTZ mostly) but have found them to be great, and im as hard as anyone on my tyres..

They do a AT Tyre, not quite as aggressive as the BFG but if most of your driving is in the city then they would be fine.. These or the BFG AT''s would be my choice!

ATZ 5 Rib 70% Road & Sand
30% Dirt & Mud

ATZ 4 Rib 60% Road & Sand
40% Dirt & Mud

MTZ
Serious Off-Road Tyre
40% Road & Sand
60% Dirt & Mud

Thanks Chad.
I think i wouldve gone with the BFG A/T regardless. I just wanted some unbiased advice on the COOPERS.
On my old Hilux i had them on for 3 years and didnt have a problem. I done heaps of trips up to North QLD aswell, including one trip to the top end where i went 10 000 km in 5 weeks.
When i sold the car the tyres were still great!

Still havnt got them Storms.
Waiting for my mate to get back from overseas cause last time he got them for me at about 40% off.
But i will get the BFG ALL TERRAIN
Ive had them before and treated them hard, but they loved every second of it.
Cant bloody wait to get the MUD TERRAINS off the car. Dont know why the last owner put them on considering it never left the road.

Good stuff, people do some dumb things, mud tyres on a road car, 20 inch wheels and low profile tyres and wonder why its no good off road and my personal favourite those idiots who lower work utes and put truck exhausts on them hysterical.gif easier and cheaper to buy a wrx rolleyes.gif

Got em!
BF GOODRICH ALL TERRAIN!
Cant believe it took me so long to get rid of those aweful MUDs.
Its like driving a new car. Smooth, quiet, straight, and seems to have more power aswell!
Looking forward to the drive to QLD Christmas time!
