I nearly forgot, you're behind the times mate, nowdays you build a shell & drive stringers up its arse with a sledge hammer.

BTW, I call bullshit on pressure testing to 150 PSI without a bomb containment unit to put it in.

I'm no engineer but I seriously doubt a 4mm square ally tank would survive 150 PSI without major deformation, maybe Pelagic meant 150 KPA.

Interesting to watch 2 plate threads at the same time.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Unfortunately, my post contains a typo. The fuel tank is pressure tested to 150kpa, which translates to approx 21.7psi.

Ahh that's better, no bullshit just a mistake.

Of coarse you know that thread was started as a deliberate attempt to take away any focus that may have been Jumpy's way. and to some how put a bit of shit on Jays thread.
I strongly believe Jumpy should have started an entire new thread with his build, not start his build 11 pages into a thread.
But what would I know.

I didn't see it like that Frank but you could be right.
It will be interesting to see the different ways people do it.
One thing I'd like to know is the time frame around the Pelagic pictures.

Fed it is meant to depict Jay as 2nd rate, but I think it will turn around and bight Spiro on the arse.

Those pictures are from a factory made boat and has probably taken 3-4 weeks to get to that stage with god knows how many guys working on it, they do so much to one boat, then leave it sit for a while as they do a bit more to other boats and so forth, probably got 5-5 boats going at the one time at verious stages.

Frank i could have a ball in that thread if i wanted to but i'll let the groupies alone laugh.gif

Guy was talking shit in my thread reckoned he used a jig & i'll tell you now that is crock

Seen it done his way back when i built the jumpus whilst visiting predator boats & didn't like it one bit some of the gaps i saw is what got me thinking how to over come them & reason i built a proper jig

When you went to predator, was shortly after those guys took over the name and factory, that's where my T I G machine came from it was used to build the boats up till that stage.
When them guys took over from my mates they had 1/2 a boat built, which they finished and the one you seen would probably be the 1st maybe 2nd attempt they had of building a plate boat.
So don't judge the previously built Predators as being anything like the frame you seen, the old predators were a country shit house as solid as a rock.

A couple of questions Jumpy.

What's going on with the predator boat he doesn't seem to have welded the side sheets to the frames except for one, there's huge gaps in the rest?

Are you putting outriggers on your hull or stabi waterwings, surely it will fall over with a 34 degree deadrise.

You said your deadrise was 24 then you changed it to 34 and at 34 it would fall over in the water without outriggers or waterwings.

How is it going, you have to be enjoying the cooler weather after the previous summer builds.

BTW the guy from Predator explained that if he welded the side sheets to the frames it causes distortion so they don't normally do it like that unless it's a survey boat so don't worry about my previous question.

MORE PICTURES PLEASE MATE.

The guy from predator boats.

Coming home tired is a good sign of plenty of work getting done.

After the last builds we're all expecting huge progress every day, you're getting too old and slowing down mate. Be careful you don't blow a valve .
