Some of you would remember my front yard being dug up and left in a bloody mess so that the street can have access to the N B N.
Well the network has finally got from out the front to my house, box on side of house. I will finally be connected on the 3rd June and will have unlimited N B N broadband so I can use as many computers in the house as I want which might finally get my laptop some use. I don't know anybody that is using N B N yet so I can't ask if there is any improvements from the old standard broadband, will soon know after the 3rd. Should be fast enough to become a movie pirate Frank.
I'm surprised you haven't already got a wifi network in the house. -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

It's pretty straight forward Frank and an absolute must for tablets, once you have a tablet you'll never use your laptop again.
I just picked up my tablet and said, "fishing oz style" to it and here's what appeared without any typing. Screenshot_2014_05_09_12_13_57.JPG ( 85.33K ) Number of downloads: 7 Denise just picked up a 10" tablet for $130 and I can't get it away from her, she's addicted to those silly tic tac games. LOL! Anyway, a little bit of hardware & you're good to go. -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

Anyway, a little bit of hardware & you're good to go. I just bought Val a 10.1 quad core tablet with I gig ram and 64gb of data $204, waiting on delivery now. IF it's any good I might buy one for my own use. Could get the 2 core for around $100 or less but they only had 0.3mp camera front and 2 mp rear as mine has 2mp front and rear, also the 2 core don't have the HDML slot which is a feature I really like with electronics these days. -------------------- Frank

Are the same apps available on tablets as what you can get with an I phone/I pod ?. A mate had a app that you point to a star or planet and it tells you what planet/ system you are looking at. Also point it at a plane and it tells you the planes number and destination etc. All good toys to play with in my old age. -------------------- Frank

Frank I think most stuff available for apple is also there for android, if not it soon will be.
There's an app for everything LOL! Of course the tablet has to have the hardware to support them, no sense having a GPS app if the tablet doesn't have a GPS chip in it. I'm trying to convince someone to take up the sonarphone / navionics / tablet challenge below, I have no need for it but I'd love to know how it would perform. QUOTE 10" Tablet c/w GPS ~150
http://www.dinodirect.com/ainol-ax10t-3g-d...html?affid=2583 WiFi Transducer ~150 http://sonarphone.mobi/products/t-box/ Navionics ~50 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...gleAppOceaniaHD Universal mounting gizmo ~50 If you already have a tablet and only need the plotter Navionics is no brainer @ ~50. If not then you still finish up with a spare tablet. Sonar Phone & Navionics have free apps to let you fiddle before committing. -------------------- SEAFARER: Fine as a Fairy's Fart |

Android will always be better than apple in my opinion as the developers aren't in it for business like Apple is , there is thousands of free apps and if you can't find the one your after ask the Internet and there is sure to be someone willing to try and make it for you maybe for a small fee.
As for NBN they have there own boxes similar to cable optus and by what I have seen all you need is a wifi Router connected to their RJ45 outlet and your in business . -------------------- |
