Hi guys don't know if anyone is interested in a chat but just in case someone wants a read. I am going up to Windamere near Mudgee for 4 days 24th -28th October to try my luck for some Yellowbelly ( Golden Perch ) and any other by catch that I happen to jag. Couple of guys from Fishraider will be with me and I believe one of the guys knows the lake pretty well so he is going to take me and another mate out on the first day to show us a couple of likely spots. Hoping the weather is kind to me for a change. Getting a cabin for a bit of comfort, not taking my boat as Neil is taken his and we will share his boat.
Well that's it for now, hope someone is interested enough to comment.

Frank, hope you have success with the fishing, but either way you will enjoy the company and fellowship smile.gif I will be in Tuncurry at that time, enjoying the flathead and bream fishing out of my Hobie fishing kayak. Looking forward to the three weeks away, so will put a report up on here. I'm still locked out of FR despite trying with a VPN.

in Lake Keepit so I haven't had any reports of anyone trying to fish out there. Enjoy your trip and keep us informed on how you go Cheers Sumo.

Klaus. Thanks for the reply. Good luck up Tuncurry been 30 years since I fished that area, never been in/on a kayak I wouldn't trust myself I would be belly up more than upright. Keep us informed with a report, every little bit of input will help this site get back to what it was.

NEED INPUT.
PS I will have a talk with Donna about your membership.

George. I believe Windy is currently about 30% and I have been informed that that is still plenty of water to have a boat in and have depths of up to 9 metres 4-5 being average, there is a lot of submerged trees and many out of water which should make some great casting fishing. I am really looking forward to this trip as I haven't wet a line for some months. Fished Botany Bay a few times this year but haven't got away to any Fresh water. I am building up another old tinnie and it's almost finished with all the bells and whistles, including 100ltr keeper tank down rigger rod locker heaps of rod holders Leckie motor and all else you can think of to have everything at easy hand, can't wait to get it on the water.

The New Boat sounds Great Frank, I need to get mine out of Mothballs It hasn't been in the water for over 3 Years. Split Rock dam is only 3% but it is still deeper than 10 meters in most places It is a small Area Dam over 300ft Deep when the water is higher with very cold water at times. would like to see some pics when the new boat is done.

Was really looking forward to this trip away. Neil just PMed me we can't get accommodation all booked up for weeks ahead. Well there goes another trip by the wayside.
Might end up going down his place at Leeton and fish the banks of Murrumbidgee for a day or two. OR get my boat out and get someone to come to Botany OR the Hacking with me.

Bummer. I saw the post on the other site, saying that there were comps etc on for a few weekends plus heavy pressure at other times. Can't take a trick Frank. Toss your kayak on the roof racks and come up to Forster smile.gif

Klaus Don't have a yak never sat in one and wouldn't trust myself in one I would be belly up more than upright. Looks like we may be going to Burrinjuck instead, just waiting on the go ahead for the juck. I know it's closed season for Cod but still some good yella fishing down there and IF we jag a cod it's released without taking it from the water anyway.
