What sort of competition would you run and what sort of prize within reason, and is there places or just the winner.
Now put on the thinking caps. -------------------- |

OZMAN,i would think a photo comp, run over a month with winner takes all, and as for a prize it should not be neaded at this stage because all the posting members will get behind it, if on the other hand we wish to get more new members then a top of the line prize may help.

We can put that Google-eyed fush up as a prize winner gets to spend a day with him & the runner up has to put up with him for a week
Somehow I dont think we'd get to many contestants On a more serious note guys I was having a chat with The Chop the other day & I'm pretty sure I can persuade him to put up a Furuno Sounder as a prize for a competition. But none of this photo contest or fishing contest we're talking about a decent prize & the whole goal of the contest will be to raise some $$$$ for a worthwhile charity say kids cancer researh or something similar & to boot some lucky member here will walk away with a new sounder. So put on your thinking caps & come up with some idea's Also think a contest like this will attract new ACTIVE MEMBERS -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

hmm well this seems like a great idea, we can organize a fishing comp or something like that we all profits going to charity, i can organize exposure for the competition, radio, magazine, and help with word of mouth, maybe to increase the prize amount we all chip in something, for example, 1 member throws in a new reel another throws in a new rod, fishing gear ect ect.

We need a game plan 1st hustler cant just barge in & hope for the best
ont think a fishing comp is the answer either it may play a part role but couldn't see proceeds from it paying for much @ all. I have a few idea's but will hold off mentioning them till others give some imput 1st -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

Yeah do'nt really like the idea of fish'n comps unless it's 'CnR'.That's why i left the fish'n club, don't see the point in killing heaps of fish, just for a 'good cause'.
Tell ya's what, i'm sick of seeing rubbish everywhere when i fish, how'bout we have a clean up comp.Maybe we all meet up with our gloves & bags at a spot we agree needs a clean up.We could then spend some time getting to know each other pic'n up crap, most crap in time limit wins . THEN we could all go for a fish Just a thought SMELLY -------------------- catch ya

The 4wd clubs often organise clean up in places like menai, so they can have access to areas that others are not allowed.. Maybe we could do somthing that benifits us as well all a charity..
Have a clean up in the morning, and then take some kids fishing or somthing? Would be good if we had some shirts or somthing to wear while we did somthing like this? Could make it a yearly event? have the clean up, a BBQ lunch and a fish in the afternoon. Sponsors could put there names on our shirts and they get a bit of good exposure as we walk the beach/whatever with our shirts on. Get a sponsor to throw in a few free cheapie rods for the kids and teach them how to throw a line in? |

Thats why I asked for other peeps ideas 1st
Once thet start to roll in we can have a look @ them all & select the ones best suited By no means does whatever competition selected have to have to occur & finish in one day think that would not be of any great benifit We could have what Smelly suggested but with minor prizes but dont think to many would be keen to spend their day cleaning up other peoples mess Either way outings are good but dont think they would attract big turn outs people live all over the place -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

yep i agree with ya , kids are a great idea,
in terms of liabilities, that would have to be looked into and it would depends on how this was set up, when my wife was working with a few mentally disabled kids we took them out fishing a few times and the parents came alone to, we had no problems when it came to being liable as the parents fully understood that at the end of the day as long as the parents are with them then they are liable for there children and any injuries would be covered by my boat insurance if in the event we had a boat crash ect ect -------------------- ............GLOBAL WARMING............
