umm, hard to explain poly, the hamiltons were designed for going up the rapids etc in NZ, and therefore are an extremly strong hull, they are also quite good in rough water as the rapids in NZ can be very rough,

indeed they are a strong boat rum, as for making a good fishing boat i don't know it will depend on were u in tend to use it if it is just fresh and or bay i would say it will be o.k. but if u wish to use it for skying and wake boarding i thing a stern drive would be better

The Hamilton Jets were named after the guy who invented them
And yep yep I've shot the rapids in NZ in a boat fitted with one of them jet thingys they're propelled in the same way a jet ski is propelled. But it's the shape of the boats hull which enables them to shoot the rapids some places in under a foot of water & to pull up when you're travelling @ speed you chuck a quick 180 deg turn. Cant for the life of me see why you'd want one as a fishing boat propulsion system ???? -------------------- Save The Fish, Eat a Pussy |

j g they do have the ability to get in to some very skinny water and that has to be a good thing in there favour, all though in rums case i do think he would be better off with a stern drive.

CHAD, they're a good boat for inland Rivers & Dams, and you can all the way around it without getting your line around the Prop. Good luck
